Hey man! Right now the lion looks pretty soft, teddy-bear kinda style. Try to let there be more bones seen, the ribs and shoulders etc. Dont know if your looking for that but that could make it seem more natural, not fat, hungry and scary Also a less normal light situation might help look more natural...Just thoughts. Keep it up!

AmontilladoAg: Np. I'll try to watch out the positions of the leg. Whenever I get stuck on a pose for a person I can always jump in front of a mirror. But with animals...well not so successful. haha.

Sirio_Brozzi/Pascallo: That reference will be of great help. I see what you mean by the mountain lion being a bit on the meaty side. He's a bit to pamper to be in the wild, less natural to look at? So showing some of the rib and bones would be great. I'll try to get those changes in.

Dreamworker: Thanks for the support. Still learning a lot about animals. Just the other day I was painting an eagle and I was almost done when I suddenly found out that eagles had four claws not three. All the photo reference I used were small so it looked like it had three claws. Whew. For each animal I paint I really wish get to see it in life, from a safe distance of course.

Sorry for the lack of updates I been busy with a lot of projects and I took a lot of your guy's advice and work more on paneling/story. Big thanks to Jeri. I'm excited to work on my first children's book project. Pamela Schmidt and Tom F. Dodd were kind enough to let me show some of the progress of a children’s book. It’s about sea otters who had a bit too much adventure out in the sea and run into trouble with a oil tanker. Let me know if thumbnails read clear. Images 7-10 skip a bit because they are on budget. It's my first children's book project so I want to get it right, hopefully everything read smoothly. I'll try to squeeze some personal projects in to, to show for fun. THanks

Azalin, Thanks Loomis was always a great help and I'll continue to use him as inspiration.

hedwordup, Studies helped me a lot but can be boring so I mix them up with cartoons to had more spring to my drawing and have fun.

Here is a robot painting in progress and if I clicking I'll keep running with it. Some random Kangroo studies from reference from the net. It's such a treat to watch boxing kangroo beat up in unsuspecting owners with frenzy and grace. Some life drawing an notes from Robert Beverly Hale video lectures. They very fuzzy videos but they are packed with a lot of information. If knew of them I would have watch them earlier.

Here are some more Robert Beverly Hale study. Sketch of a succubus...I guess. I'm still enjoying painting my favorite tool is the palette knife. It also has nice oil brush but I like using the real thing, even though I hate the clean up...haha. I'm not sure which looks more interesting for the robot concept? It with the rough painterly background or more of blank bg? I still would have to clean it up a bit though the right. Left or Right looks better?

Here is a painting in progress of Thor. I have been reading a lot on Norse Mythology. It is very interesting. When I get better at painting I want to paint Valk's. More figure drawing. A sketch from SketchCrawl event. On the last painting. I'm trying to find subtle way to break away the skull foreground from the figure. I added some textures not sure if that was good enough.

Hey man, the winged bot looks pretty cool, i would prefer a more vivid background, maybe the left one but not THAT busy. maybe somthing in between?

The last piece is great - cool composition style and fresh colors.great contrast of clean and bright and dirty and dark. great job man!

Whew, I'll starting new job around June2th on site so I'll try to dump what I have right now. I hope they take to my artwork and meet their needs.
