Hi Blaz. I've only looked at the few most recent pages, but even in those you're improving leaps and bounds. You've got a knack for characters, though anatomy can be a little wonky at times... but that's ok, it takes a lot to be able to bs a form and make it look 100% correct. Keep it up, I see good things coming from you

Dude, these last couple sketches are killah! More pleez! The definition on the top kick boxer's right arm could have used some more attention in the elbow area but other than that - NICE.

the biggest exhaust pipe on your last sketch looks like its pointing in the wrong direction imo.... consider revising perspective maybe?

    Blaz,

Great improvement over the years. Your character designs and skill with a pencil just get stronger and stronger with each page. Huge jump in #133. I am really enjoying your last few sketchbook pages - great fighting poses and a wicked man-machine meld. As far as the CHOW piece (The Host) goes, wonderful design, but it's a mite dark and it makes me miss the details in the feet and the hands from the initial sketch. There are also many abrupt transitions from dark to light, and because of the contrast it's hard to tell where I should be looking at - the breasts, the legs, the forearms, the face? I really dig your idea of the mouth headdress so I would do something to really pop the contrast there to get our eyes to zero in on it (lighten the teeth framing her face, or use a complementary color like red?), and subsequently bring up the values of the dark patches so the jumps in contrast aren't competing with the really cool designs you've got going elsewhere. Simplify the parts you don't want us to really look at, and spice up the areas where you want us to drool over.

    Great work, keep going!

I have major PhotoShop calibration problems. Everything I do in photoshop looks better/different than it looks anywhere else. The stuff i make look too bright and plain outside the photoshop.
Is PS right and my monitor wrong? Or other way around?

Here I took a screenshot of both on my monitor.
A is photoshop, B is image viewer.

Hey there! I have the same problem as you here, and when i wanna save something for web- it's also the same- he gives more colors to the jpg..damn... by the way- nice works like them a lot

    Hello again,
Thank you everybody for comments and crits! Sorry I dont have time to reply to each one of you atm.

@MarkWinters: That second post of yours was a mistake right? xD You meant to post it in some other SB?

Was quite busy with final high school assignment so I couldnt update.
    Here are some new stuff:
1st are quick sketches from the class
2nd and 3rd are just drawings from photo references.

    hey blaz!

i think i found the answer- here u have a screenshot from my color management options ( i use ps cs3 ) - u must go to Edit/Color Management .. and here is mine:

and now when i'm opening some jpg's i see that:

than i choose 3rd option "discard... blebleble"

whatever- let me know, if it works positive - cheers!

Looking good Blaz. Digging the quicksketches in the first attached image. I love the kickboxer in the last. Great expression on his face.

The right arm of the guy writing in the first sketch feels a little long.

The second attached image, of the nude: if you brought the contour line of the right side of her ribcage just a tad into the stomach, it'd really push the idea of it being three dimensional. You did that in the last sketch and I get more of a real sense of her body occupying space than in the other one.

    Keep it up.

Sorry for the goofy post - I must've had too many windows open and posted in the wrong one! Anyhoo - great update! These sketches are really well done. Hands seem to be your weak spot on these so watch what you do with them. The very last reclining woman is my fav of the bunch. MOAR!

    Congrats on getting in!

Mage is looking good, but I have to ask, does his goatee attach directly to that hose? Please don't take that as a crit; I'm just curious about the design.

Looking forward to you finishing up this zombie bat guy thing. The contemplative gesture you gave him contrasts nicely with the terrifying dead look in his eyes.
