drd: Thanks.
Sway West: Thanks, I'm glad you dig the monsters.
bhan:Thanks. I'm really glad things like "your style". I just hope to keep developing it and keeping it "me". Thanks again.
MagicFlyinLemur: Thanks. Wow, I get your first post. Thanks for checking out my sb.
vigostar: Thanks!
More of the same. I went to the zoo again, more life drawings, Bridgman studies, and random bouts with my imagination. I painted a little but it's not dry yet, so I'll post that later. Peace.

Saa: Thanks.
Bhanu: Thanks for stopping by again, your comments are always appreciated.
Bunny: Thanks. I'm working on getting those brush strokes better.
Undergroundsean: Thanks.
Sajad126: Thank you.
Myelephant: Thanks for being part of a two person sketch crew. Grace cathedral was fun. We should go to the zoo soon.
AmadorL: Thanks. I'll do my best.
So it took me forever to even get the page to load. Anyone else having this problem? Anywho, drawings and a painting. I find that the paintings that I have less time to do turn out better. I guess I'm forced to make decisions quickly and not fuss over stuff. The painting was done in a little under 2.5 hours. Skintones.......... hard.

rabidtooth will follow u to hell!!!
Mate! massive R-E-S-P-E-K for you, i've been browsing CA for a while seen some mindblowing stuff, but seeing your work has given me a jolt of LIFE , thoroughly inspiring style, i dig the way you show the light and shade with lines only, your hatching is very distinctive....keep it coming chromosome, im gonna be following your work from now on! , BTW which artists are you Inspired from and can you explain a bit about , and do you draw from life often?.... apologies i get a bit carried away when inspired.
wow there are some fantastic updates here!
RAW! freakin raw work, brilliant
Your pencils are rocking! Great inspiration thx!
I love the last post, your drawing shows lots of confidence, and that painting is great. You might like Ann Gale's work http://realart.com/templates/artist.jsp?id=GAL

damn what a fantastic worki love your way of rendering , the hands looks aswome... keep it up matte
i love your zoo animals!!!
Yeah, I've noticed that some pages on ca.org are horribly slow at high traffic hours. But atleast it's the best freaking site for artists on the wwwOriginally Posted by Chromosome
Good stuff mate! I love the hogarth hands and all the sketches you've done. Cool to see some animal studies as well and not just scary monsters as I do in most sketchbooks. They're done with a mechanical pencil, yes?
Whoa, how have I not stumbled upon this sb before...
Bitchslappingly unique sketching style, absolutely love the heavy emphasis on straight lines as opposed to flowy curved ones. Great contrast between the two in this one.
Oil paints are ludicrous - to say so much with so few strokes is really something to aspire to.
Will be coming back here no doubt, thanks for sharing!
cheers!

Zandernice: Thanks. Actually, I'm sticking to Bridgman studies for the moment. His books are smaller and easier to carry around.
DanielC: Thanks for the comments. I'm still working on getting the right values working in my paintings. I guess as long as you get the values right, you can play with the color as much as you want.
RABIDTOOTH: Wow. Thanks for the compliments. As for drawing from life, yes, as much as I can. I'm always going to workshops at my school, or just doodling in on the train or wherever. As far as artists who inspire me, my instructors are my main inspiration now, but I also dig Leinil Yu, Mike Mignola, Sergio Toppi (I've only seen a couple of pieces of work though) and Phil Hale to name a few.
Mr. Blonde: Thanks!
Asoir: Thanks, I try.
Epias: Glad you dig it. It's all ballpoint pen though. It forces me to make good decisions and make the mistakes I make work for me.
Callops: Thanks for the comments and thanks for stopping by again!
Oalexis: Thanks
Wasker: Thanks. It's all ballpoint pen.
Brendan N: Thanks for the comments. I'm glad you dig the drawings and the paintings. We just had a little talk in class about having your own technique. I'm glad my technique is something people like. Thanks for stopping in.
Chuck, mate: I'm glad all the studying of anatomy is paying off. Thanks for the compliments.
Naomiful: Thanks! Homework is kicking my butt right now, but hopefully I'll have a moment to draw for myself in the next week.
This one just dried enough to scan, so here it is. This was a study from last saturday. I got to the workshop late, so this is about a little less than 2 hours of painting. I still need to figure out a plan though when doing a painting, and bring some areas to a higher finish. Thanks for checking it out.

Really awesome oils man!
I've just started to paint with oils, it's huge fun for me but I don't have an effing clue what I'm doing, so I'll definitely be using these as model.
Absolutely love the unfinished state and patchy stroke work. Puts the life back into the figure.
Thanks for sharing!

Excellent work Chomosome
As mentioned you got a great way of hatching and your oils show a good understanding of shapes and values. Really like your Bridgman studies too. Kepp sharing those goodies.
Brendan N: Thanks. I'm pretty new to oils too. I just keep slapping paint on there until I get something I think I like.
Sonaj: Thanks. I took a break from the Bridgman studies, but I'm going back to them soon.
It's been a minute, but here's some life drawings, a 3 hour self portrait, monsters and monkeys with tentacle hair. Thanks for checking it out.
