Wow. That's my reaction to this thread. Wow in both a positive and negative sense. Some of your techniques and ideas are absolutely in-freakin-credible, such as those statue walls and many of your insect photographs. Those statue paintings are masterpieces! Some of your other pieces of yours I don't like, either because of the style or subject matter. It seems that sometimes you go out of your way to find really graphically unsettling subjects. However, like someone else said, it's brave of your to express yourself in this manner.

Lots of this stuff is nice... good art. I think the Totems/Face Towers were the best.

Art is so perverted (in a non sexual way) nowadays. Taking pictures of dead animals and squashed cheesecake is just strange (in my opinion). I don't know why but the whole art community has become so pretentious that things like this are praised, when really they are just attempts at being artistic and things that as humans we have to encounter enough of in everyday life, instead it's served to us on a plate masquerading as art.

I really can't decide. I think it IS brave to express yourself in this manner, as some of the pieces are truly creative and fantastic. And I was disturbed by the pictures, but then to say; I was disturbed... Therefore it is art, isn't justified.

I think things that provoke, made with a certain amount of sensitivity or creativity is art. To take a picture of a dead cat in an almost journalistic fashion, I can't justify to myself as art.

Can see you are a great artist though, just somtimes a bit mislead.
