Yawn........zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz
Hey guys and all respected artists! First, i came upon this thread by seeing a 5 star rating and hoping that there's some really interesting C&C going on here. But as i read on and on.. not what i hoped for. To question what is art or no, it's a whole new subject. Take the dead cat photo for instance, if it's shot with incredible lighting, good framing, good exposure etc it's still fine but sadly it's got nothing of a good quality photo. The other thing that made me go WTF was, is this not a SKETCHBOOK forum? whats with the other nonsense? Everyone is just trying to be constructive but it's just too damn confusing when you look at his "works".. Like.... C'mon are you serious? This sanctuary is not for loosers who seek fame and pageviews and surprisingly a 5 star rating... Many artists who works their asses off are strugling to get feedbacks and here... Just dissapointing to look at. the best thing is just too ignore.. To the minority who still believs in ART.. I suggest we stop all these craping around here. We're just making happier seeing us biting each other and thats probably what he wants so why give in to that.
I really like Conceptart.org and hopefully it just does not turn into another PLACE to seek overated fame.... and it disgust me that this Wanimal dood just thinks he's good at what he's doing which is RUBBISH!
DisGUSTING.... Anyone? wanna hit me with anything? bring it on.... I only fight for what i believe.. Have "FUN" guys...
the female, top page 10 is sweeeeeet.
The only crit I would have for you wanimal is that indeed its about sketches and paintings and not really about photography here... But then It doesnt bother me.
more paintings plz.
So infantile the problem you are discussing
I am a swiss I will

Hey guys, knock it off in here. I'm looking at everybody with immature behavior.
keep it up,
those that have issues with this art should just grow a pair.
and show some integrity and class . it says far more about their own fear of failure.
stay swiss and keep updating!!!!

Im with Camara on this, man you have some talent with a pencil and stuff but get a balance between photography and drawing, there is a specific section for photograph and there is a section for drawing and painting, and guess which one you are in
lets see some more pencils
It is ok for wanimal to post his photographs in his sketchbook thread.
ok sorry then i stand corrected
more than anything else, i think it would've been absolutely awesome to have you as a classmate in some of my classes. we might not agree on everything, but it would've been awesome just to hear people stumbling around trying to figure out how to critique your work. sure, some of it's "shock" value, but some of it is only "shocking" to those with certain "values."
anyway, what usually happens in these 30 student, 3-hour-long critiques is that everybody in the graphic design clique (for example) looks at each floral watercolor and says "nice, i like it. good use of color." then all the realistic painters would look at the grafitti and manga knock-offs and say "sweet." but nobody really meant what they said.
eventually they'd come around to someone. and then all hell would break loose. your colors are all wrong. you don't understand feminism. blah blah blah.
as you (wanimal) and you (fellow viewers) can imagine (even if you hate wnml's work), it would've been f*ing awesome to have this kind of chaos in a critique. it would have made critique day worth looking forward to.
anyway, the quasi-serious side of me says:
(i didn't look through the whole thing in order.)
not too keen on the first couple of pencil drawings and a couple of the watercolors, but i like the one of stephen hawking a couple of pages later. your drawing is the complete opposite of his mind.
the stage photographs and little models. f(*&ing awesome!!!!! those are really good.
an old art teacher of mine once said that a good criteria to start with is to ask yourself "does it make you wish you had thought of it first, wish you had done it first, or wish you could do it?" i'm still debating some of parts of your work, but others i really do appreciate.

refine your skills
i smell lots of penis envy from many posts.
Don't discredit the work just because you don't like the makers way.
There are many very artistic images here, a fresh contrast to digital art as most of it has a gallery art flair.
Also note that most artists out there don't even bother to exhibit their work for free on internet. If he does not want to reply, let him be.
He seems not to seek critique but comes for comments and do his part of sharing by posting his work.
Also i didn't read any statements that he is extra fond of his own work or thinks he is the best.
I started out as gallery artists long ago and i have seen so many different images on various exhibitions, i have seen images so porn that people turned red by watching them but still in in France for example they find acceptance as art without a big discussion. Here the artist got insulted on the first page already and was told his work is not art.
Well, didn't meant to make a long post actually.
the point is, if you don't like it, move on.
cheers

Photo "Poisoning" is interesting. I can see terror in rabbit round eye. it's so strange: an eye is round, pupil is round...Just a shape... but it is strong emotion there...
