It's nice how your work always looks effortless. As if you had no trouble with it and just went for it . Looking through your SB makes me feel lazy, damnit!

Thanks - personally dividied - but I like the main island

    Bing!
It's ok - don't hang too much on the program or the brushes - Sai is fine and small, but not magic. & Thanks & NP.

    Saara_
heh - sometimes effort can be made into making things look effortless ~ its not
& I'm active again now, but I hardly painted at all from february last year to a month ago - over a year of mostly textures or silly doodles with a handful of exceptions, or I'm a bit tempremental when it comes to personal paintings, sometimes it just pours out and sometimes nothing. & thanks.

    Jephyr X
Np - and the results are not really due to sai - just a program I like to use due to how light it is - and it's good for lines.

NickyBeats Thanks - and I'm happy that came across

    MatejaPetkovic
I really had no idea about it one week before that - and haven't really done it since that week - it was a fun project and I hope to get to try it out some more. & thanks for stepping by ~

insane lemur thanks - I think
I think it's just because I just painted it without playing with texture brushes and layers much - and that there is a simple canvas texture in the base layer.

Morning study - got to do other stuff all day but had an just under an hour. (ref usedName: junglestudy.jpg

I think texture would have suited this one... (I just had to say that)

But hey, it looks pretty neat. How long do you usually take when painting? This one looks (once again, haha) as if you just got the stuff straight down and ta-dah, it already looks good .

you are the shit! that monster in 454 is so cool. It feels finished everywhere just because the composition is nice and the details in the face create a strong focal point. The colors make it even creepier being nice and soft and pink. Wish I could critique some but you know lots that I don't so just some asspat.

Thanks - it did get decently soft yet sharp - lacks some shape, esp on some of the leafs

    bpic
Thanks - and yeah it got pretty decent - and well pink and flesh is affectionate somehow, or at least I like to make monsters so ~ '

    Sybo
    Thanks

heh - np - anyway todays like today sai is awesome - sitting on a crappy laptop and it got zero power to do anything but browse - but firefox takes more juice than sai does

    Saara_
    Very true

    & Thanks.

& and the morning piece was 45 minutes or so - at most 55 as it was rather unfocused. As for effort it depends per piece - if it's a freeform monster - very little usually - esp. if it's like the pink monster, teeth monster or vampire - if it's something like the tropical landscape - there is more (as it's still pretty so so).

    EDIT/
    sevarenge
Tack - o om jag kan, men ser rätt bra ut från din sida

    /EDIT

So my computer broke down yesterday - and I'm currently using the surf laptop and it lags when I type and the screen is letter sized - so no fun, but managed to kind of finish what I started before the crash ~ (should be sharper at points, but I'll leave that for an other day)

Still pretty WIP - but off to other things

Very early WIP as to show some sort of process image.
    Name: strangewriter_small.jpg
Views: 708
Size: 33.9 KB

EDIT: started as many of the stupid ones as a doodle - as you can see on the process image - just did the head for fun and the rest followed - should probably have changed up the pose and fixed some stuff - but it was a bit hard to take too seriously

Shad- I don't hate my render - hope it didn't come off like it did - I sometimes don't like something with one piece - or I found I failed render wise on an other - case in point - I kind of liked the early WIP for this piece, but not the WIP images after until the last.

Given that it was mostly a render play - trying out more softbrushes and so on it's fine - I liked even many of my mistakes - yet I also disliked many of the things I did and tried to better myself by avoiding them.

Now this piece - like most of the others - isn't really done, but I'm done with it for today .

Started as a doodle for a letter to a friend (first image) - decided to flesh it out some more Friday, but the crashing computer pushed it up until today.

Vulgar` It's always a pleasure when you get by ~ Thanks.

& Some WIPS - save the rat that is more or less abandoned (and a month or two old - the rest are from last week and today)

just started - want to do something more concepty as I should be looking for work - need to solve the legs/arms/hip and some other general shapes as well - but was fun to start. (ignore the colours in the upper right - they aren't of interest at all anymore) & the leg to the right got an old design and need to be changed etc.
    Name: mech6.jpg
Views: 640
Size: 54.7 KB

Rat - sorry about the quality - again from a letter (like the fleshparrot) that I sent to a friend and I only have since gmail preserved the JPG.
    Name: rat.jpg
Views: 607
Size: 67.8 KB

Want to finish this one someday - but only happy with the 4 small toes on her right - and parts of the hair - going to take some more time, and it's annoying/sad/opressive to work with.
    Name: prisoner5.jpg
Views: 617
Size: 49.6 KB

probably the one closest to being done - but still unhappy with parts and others are hardly touched (like the engines, her left hand/side and background especially)
    Name: flygirl8.jpg
Views: 608
Size: 119.6 KB

I often start new things daily - even when old aren't done - so here's to me trying to change that by actually wrapping these up, maybe even the rat.

    Anyway, night.

This is kind of a groupie comment but I can't help it, haha . Crazy, crazy insanely super awesome, the way you render flesh is cool as hell. Did I already say I love your stuff?

I think maybe on the last two the anatomy is a teeny bit off on both - the first girl's head is a bit too large and the last one... hmm. She doesn't look like she's under the armor, if that makes any sense (it doesn't, lol). What I mean is that if you removed the armor her proportions would be noticeably off.

I'm currently savouring the first bunch of pages of your sketchbook and am really inspired by how easily you let loose and fly all over the place with your studies. THEN I came to this last page and saw the levels of refinement you can reach. I'm just blown away now. lol
