    insomania! lets paint!

Hello all, I'm excited to go to San Francisco and be part of the "insomania" art adventure. I wanted to promote the event a bit as some of my favorite artist will be there painting and drawing and sharing their insights. this is the kind of thing I dreamed about when I was in school but never had, then again we used torches and ground roots to paint on cave walls at that time.

anyway, cool stuff, inspiring stuff and lots of stuff to be seen. Checkout this link for more. http://www.conceptart.org/forums/showthread.php?t=81804

I plan on setting up and painting in oils for the first couple of days and the last day I would like to work and rework the piece in the computer. so if that sounds interesting good, if not you will find tons of other artists and demos to float your boat.

    hope to see you there.

    Jon

attached is a detail of a small oil sketch.

Nice to see a new robot painting! Seeing these new oils from you makes me wonder what another show would be like if you and Melissa should have another at RISD Views. I may have to talk to the Gabster about going to this Insomnia event. There are too many great artists there to miss such an event. Now if I can get her over her fear of flying...actually, on second though, let me know how it goes. haha, just kidding!

    I love that robot's chest.
He reminds me of Tik Tok from the 2nd Wizard of Oz film.

there's really nothing bad to be said about your digital work, Jon but i love the traditional way better.

so if you're not afraid to go to San Fran and paint around a room full of strangers does that mean you'll make it out to Race Brook Lounge for a whole week in '07? ha? ha?

Maybe I'll row over to ya insomnia guys... construct a boat... paint it... put some tender care into it and love it with all my heart... probably wouldn't work, so I'll stay put and cry.
