This is a thread to give information about Max the Mutt Animation School in Toronto to people looking for an affordable, excellent school. Max the Mutt has diploma programs (3 years) in both Classical and Computer Animation Basics and Illustration for Sequential Arts: Comic Books and Graphic Novels. We also offer an advanced one year diploma in 3D Computer Animation and Production.
The common first year, Visual Arts Literacy, is a very strong foundation program. Our class size is small. All faculty are working professionals, and our stress on professionalism and skills has brought success to graduates. The web site is: www.maxthemutt.com.
To apply for first year, we require a portfolio that includes a drawing of your own hand, a simple still life, and 10 to 20 other drawings, sketches or paintings of your choice. Those applicants who feel they already have basic skills equivalent to what we teach in year i can apply for advanced standing into year two of either diploma program. We require an essay about you, your goals , why you want to attend MTM and why you think we should accept you. We require 2 written character references if you are an international or US student, one for Canadians, and we try to interview every applicant in North America either in person or by telephone. LOOK AT THE WEB SITE! The student gallery speaks for itself. Check the Careers page, and the Faculty page. Feel free to contact us with questions either by email ([email protected]) or toll free in North America at: 1-877-486-MUTT.
We are looking for passion, professionalism and potential. If you already had the skills, you'd be working, not going to school.
At Max the Mutt standards are high and there's alot of work, but everyone cares about you and knows your name.
