I will appreciate any opinion about my work. Right now I'm looking for a job and this is my portfolio: http://www.daniel-stanchev.com/ that's why a different point of view will be very helpfull.

Mravka: I'm posting a couple of animated sketches. I hope you will like it. Thank you for your opinion. I saw your web site, it's great. I'm more an animater than concept artist, but I think that you are right and I will upgrade my web site by posting show reel with good quality.
I hope I would find a job as a concept artist because I enjoy doing it.

For the animations, what part did you play in them. Which ones are totally just yours?
I like your work, particularly some of the advertisement animations for the cars, however I can't really say the same for your animated characters, you seem to have a good handle for expressions but their faces are.. repetitive, from one to the next, you seem to use the same horizontal oval as the general shape of the head, even the general direction they face and nearly all of them have a backpack with the same profile, I feel that it washes out the character alot. Using different shapes, random ones even as a base I think would contribute alot more to the characters attitude and personality with animation.
I reckon this would be an interesting avenue for you to explore since you want to get into animation, practicing with drawing up silhouettes(sp?) to make your characters easily recognisable just by their shape and the shapes you use to construct with can make the difference between a bland and dull looking character to a character with a truely unique style and attractive personality. Having said this, I think this character has much more personality and potential than the others and im not judging it on the rendering either, if you changed it to a silhuette you'd easily recognise him from the others even if you set them up in a neutral stance together.
Hope this helps some and I hope only the best of luck with employment, you got some pretty good skills here.
Cheers and don't hestitate to post again![]()
