    Beautiful, scary stuff, Ben.

I'm just now learning to incorporate Photoshop into my own digital work (beyond simply adjusting levels), and I can already relate to what you mean. I actually find that Photoshop is better for me in terms of underpainting and building textures, and Painter is where my thick-over-thin/oils-approach comes into play. You seem to have a greater handle on the approach though. Hope to see plenty more updates from you in the near future.

sweet dude I love your handling of the material, hard versus soft, very cool.
Photoshop is definitely a better program in terms of efficiency, but I really hate how the brushes work. Painter is gorgeous and I use it as my primary software, but it gets a little buggy. A merge between the two would be amazing.

Keep this shit up man I'm really inspired!

Hey, Ben! It's Marcellis, from over the cube-wall. The paintings look sweet, as one might expect. One question, though: do you use a pencil and paper much anymore, or do you mainly sketch straight into PS/Painter?

Hey Marcellis. If you come by and look through my old fasion paper sketchbook it's just full of scribbles. I only use it to think.
I might use a pencil more often if my scanner didn't take so long to warm up every time I try to use it.

Hey I went to your website. Cool stuff!

The rendering on that piece makes me so happy. So do all the other pieces . Excellent use of very soft strokes and chiseled forms.

PS. I have no idea how you manage to make your digital work look so tasty-delicious traditional like. I know it takes layers to get a real, oil paint look, but your paintings remain so loose and free from restriction. Anyway, that's a compliment!
