    I really like your stuff!
I'm especially fond of the fused-together skulls.
The lighting in your digital paintings is pretty awsome as well A tightened up version of any one of those would be neat, esp. the masked girlie.

Love the textures, too. Don't have any crits for now!

    Keep art'n

    Hey peeps!

Call0ps: Thanks! You really dig the first one more? I was kinda rooting for the second one, all the tension haha.

Santa: Thanks bro, yeah these should see a lot more iterations as the project continues, so hopefully some higher renders as well soon.

Daniel: Thanks man, keep setting the bar bro. Your shit rocks the crap out of my world.

oma: Hey no prob man. You're right the bar isn't straight and should probably be more horizontal. Luckily it was just a sketch so I can get it right next time. Thanks for dropping in man, always appreciate your advice!

maxetormer: haha thanks Luis, means much coming from you! Simplicity is always something I strive for.

Rebecca: I think that may be the best crit I've gotten in a long time - more substance less flash. Will definitely get to work on that without a doubt. Thanks for the props, and considering what you pull off with a ballpoint I'm pretty frightened at the prospect of what you'll be able to pull off with a pencil. So give it a go! Glad to see you getting more active here - besides the implied eye-candy there are a ton of guys that can learn a lot from you and artists like you!

bunny: Thanks a bunch! Glad you like. A tighter version of the lady is definitely on my to-do list, will see when I can churn out a fuller, better render.

bhanu: Hey man, glad to see you here bro. Thanks for the props man, really appreciate them. No crits? Here's some stuff for you to crit - shitty drawings. Tear them apart and have fun. Don't mind cleaning, I already someone to do that - just tear away hehe. Thanks always for your support.

    -----

K, all of these are very sketchy and very quick, and most of them have some big flaws, like the arms in the first one. The last two are studies for illustrations I'll be doing on "The Little Prince." I'm aiming for a darker, more mature feel for the illustrations. Many more of them to come. Experimental stuff later!

    hope you like

    Hey guys!

Will post some replies later today, promise!

In the meantime, here a few more (quick!) sketches/studies for The Little Prince book Illustrations. Most of the faces suck bad I know, hope to come through better on this when I do the finals.

    c+c and suggestions welcome!

Brendan, post 253 is fucking amazing.

You have a good direction, for faces remember to use construction lines and center lines, it helps more than you think.

Good job though, keep at it.

evildisco - many thanks, will be doing a lot more in that line of style. I do use construction lines for the face but I think I rush it a bit and I often get lost in any case. Think right now it's down to practice. Thanks for stopping by and if you're the dude who voted me up a bit, extra big thanks. Really made my week.

    -----
K, more experimental stuff for college - this time using ONLY photos (and photos of previous traditional experiments, but they don't really count. One can hardly see them.) Picked out the best of the bunch - it was huge fun, hope ya like

    Very nice pics!
The first and third one are poping out more to me =). Maybe the colours and elements of the composition are making them more interesting.
The previous pencils are good. But evildisco has a good point, sometimes your eyes seem a bit too separated or too low. But with practice you'll get it.
    Keep pushing dude!

just some replies, not sure when I'll be able to update again:

DanielC: Thanks dude, glad you like em. I must confess the third is my personal fave. You're right about the eyes - something to work on. Thanks for the encouragement!

Call0ps: Thanks dude, these were largely about texture so I'm glad you like it for that. Cheers for stopping by.

Dile: haha, thanks buddy! Will do, hopefully a lot more of these to come. Thanks for stopping by!

& the pencils are intriguing, though I agree with DanielC and Evildisco about the eyes (& for what it's worth I do the same thing )

Am liking your latest, nice to get into the decidedly more abstract part of the creative mind. With all these class assignments, you are going to be an amazingly well rounded artist......if ya don't stay away from the cheetos & twinkies.

The pencils are looking really nice brendan, rendering is coming on well. I would have to agree that a bit more construction or planning is needed before you get into rendering though.

    Keep it up.

Cody: That's only because I'm all flash and no substance haha. but seriously, I need to work more on my painting skills and rely less on flashiness. Thanks for the props man, I greatly appreciate those. Had huge fun with those, as with all abstracts I do.

Dan: Many thanks. I think I'm slowly getting the hang of the eyes, still working on it. Need to take an afternoon off and just draw reffed faces haha. Thanks for stopping by and keep up that awesome thread of yours.

Aztec: lololol! haha, touche madam. My hands are smaller than most girls of my age, and my arms are thinner. I dislike cheetos, and twinkies are too hard to catch these days. So I'll be staying skinny and useless according to your postulate haha. Thanks for stopping by, though I want to become well-rounded I'll need to do more traditional painting. I heard oil-paint was the leading cause of lard in the renaissance.

bhanu: Man, hearing that from you makes me all warm and fuzzy. THANK YOU so much man, really really appreciate all your support my friend. Keep grinding bro.

oma: haha, thanks a bunch dude, glad you like. thanks for the support man, truly appreciate it.

naomiful: Thanks a bunch! Awesome to hear that coming from you - I really had a ton of fun with those washes. You have such a powerful thread going here, don't ever stop!

designboot: Thanks man, glad you like it

Camara: Big thanks man, glad to hear that. There are however far hotter pencils around here - Lukias, DanielC, rodrigo! and skeiff to name but 4.

[void]: Thanks a bunch Adam, really appreciate it. Will review my construction of faces soon, get a way to do it that suits me better.

    -----

The subject I am singularly most excited about this year is Game Design. For the end of the year we need to produce a game trailer, and we're aiming to pull it off in the same fashion Homeworld did. So here some more very quick concepts for this, later in the year we'll be doing a great deal of high renders for this project. Sorry for any double posts.

    c+c appreciated

i really can't say more, just that it kicks ass!

and what kind of trailer shot that be?
digital trailer with 3d chars etc ? action trailer etc etc etc.

    Thanks oma!

The trailer will be part 3d part 2d (mostly 2d).
The 3d will be "present time" and the 2d will be in the past - responsible for conveying the story.
We're going for a more subtle trailer, not too much action but enough to convey the type of game.
Hope that answers your question .
