So american evangelion? does look awesome though.
The Phantom Pain is looking to be incredibly awesome,
best trailer ive seen in a while.

I don´t know, giant monster + robots has been a staple since way before, evangelion was already a series that did homage and winked at the whole genre and i don´t see too much of its concept on here, though its infuence sure must be mixed in the pot.
The trailer looks reallly cool an the director has a good record so i´d say there is a fair chance for the movie to be fun. I cannot picture being another Transformers or... aghh american version of Godzilla.
Yeah, I'm confused, too. Where are you getting that? It's one thing if you said "mecha", but you called out something really specific that has it's own distinct concepts that make it stand out from the genre.
That's more like Eureka Seven, I think. It's probably been done, but I know it's not EVA.a special type of weapon is devised: massive robots, called Jaegers, which are controlled simultaneously by two pilots whose minds are locked in a neural bridge.
EVA was:
( Click to show/hide )
It's basically an American love letter to the mecha and kaiju genres. On the verge of defeat, the forces defending mankind have no choice but to turn to two unlikely heroes - a washed up former pilot (Charlie Hunnam) and an untested trainee (Rinko Kikuchi) - who are teamed to drive a legendary but seemingly obsolete Jaeger from the past. Together, they stand as mankind’s last hope against the mounting apocalypse.
Del Toro has said the film will be "a beautiful poem to giant monsters"![]()
Only really meant it as a joke quite a few people in the comments were shouting evangelion rip off for some reason,
still even before reading the comments something about it did remind me of evangelion though I can't put my finger on it.
if it is anything like evangelion though it will be awesome for the first half then bad for the rest then would be followed by an ending
that makes no logical sense.
evangelion would have been so much better with glados though.
i noticed that going on in the comment section too.
Maybe because it has been old news that Evangelion was in the works for a live action , maybe the idea of an adaptation got scrapped and this is what came of it or one studio decided to get a head start and produce their own franchise to counter the eva movie in advance before it even comes out.
But these are random ramblings without any base from the top of my head.
