Seth Godin - Failing Until You Succeed

    Wise fellow.

    My Sketchbook

And then God said, "Let us make man in our likeness and our image. Let us make him ridiculously hard to draw so that poor artists everywhere will have to spend 10,000+ hours failing repeatedly before they can begin to capture the form and likeness onto a two-dimensional surface." And there was man. And it was good. And artists everywhere lost their minds.

Inspirational. It's great to take risk for personal growth and learning. My concern this is exactly what is hurting America or holding it back. When you get execs who don't care how many people they screw over as long as someone else foots the bill for their mistake and “still in the game” Example. AIG or banks going bankrupt so they could hold taxpayer hostage for millions bailout money to fix a problem they created....only to use the money for posh spa treatments or raise. The same thing happened to the vfx studio that help created the movie Life of Pi.

Yes, we need innovation but also accountability.

It's interesting what he says about going for opportunities rather than a job. I have had that happen irl and it's total magick when it occurs.

This is actually how quite a few people in Hong Kong have a living - No salaried 'job' by the traditional definition, but go-to guys and girls that a lot of the salaried job types rely on to make things happen. Know everyone, connections everywhere, and despite being 'looked' down on at first, become the most highly sought, mobile, flexible, highly paid and decent people to be around. Hard work, of course, like everything else. Just a higher concentration of them here, due to the nature of HK.
"Never regret thy fall from grace, O' spirit of Icarian flight, for the greatest tragedy of them all to face, is to never feel the burning bright"
Believe my lies, for I tell the truth about them. Or would you rather me lie about telling the truth?
