I have been seing those Rabbids for a long time now and i wanted to make a contest about them.
Initialy - i wanted to see what kind of rabbids you guys can make - but i'm affraid of copywright problems.
So... what if this game was not with rabbids... ?

I have received a lot of negative feedback about the orthos in the first run. Things from one side.. don;t hold in the other side.
I asked the 3D people to post these problems... i hope they will.
You are free to make varriants and accesories - just MERGE IT ALL IN A CHARACTER SHEET.

Some very strong entries for what i call a weak round.
Please follow the 3D contest and try to assist the 3D/Sculpt guys.
I wanted a very simple round on the concepts so we can have them done 3D in a week and to have the beginners covered.

10PM still at the office - i managed to take a snapshot at some scribbles in my sketchbook
his name is mungo jerry
he can be painted in many ways - i made parrot out of him (on a napkin at lunch, and a spaceman, and so on)
I hope i'll have the time to detail him and to do it properly.
I gotta run now.
This should be the final week of megatrouble... so.. after this i'll be able to participate - hopefully.

I realy want to see some of this guys made 3D - textured, animated and all
I hoped we will have more entries... well.. i guess we'll get everyone back when we'l get back to monsters and chicks.

yes - this is a bit out of control.
DONT" forcet guys - try to make it liek a Designer Toy - -it shoul dlook interesting just as a shape. It should allow different and custom paints.
YOu should want to have it on your monitor on in your toy collection.
My doodles aren;'t good either but i was just fooling around in open canvas at 10PM still in the office.
The 3D guys aren't fooling around. The challenge is picking up more and more tallent and inertia.
Have a look at the great sculpt by Kris V12 based on cognition.sb concept.
Swing over to the 3D area and see the rest of the WIPS.
Let's not screw up their next round.
Let's give them some amazing concepts... just becoue it's supposed to be silly , it doesn't mean it's not important.
In fact i think it's harder.




Some feeback:
entroid - one of the best starts. do it 3D (see it form sides) , try to picture it without eyes and see it in pure white plastic... see if the shapes are atractive and still funny. Also ... plan some expresions.

Moai - i think in terms of shape, it looks a bit monotonous rigth now. Make it stand out between the other toys from the desk.

fersteger - not a designer toy, a bit mor elike Disnay character- but i read the crazyness and i like the bastard Maybe with some crazy expressions . it can turn into a great entry.

chadmango - if it will be all made of white plastik... how will you paint it? it's also more towards Disney then a Designer Toy... it' cute... no crazy attitude for now. Surely.. it hides a ton of teeth a la chups chups

Supervlieg - can;t go wrong with a monkey love it - any weapons? more expreeions for the animator? tag line ?

mike - try to clean it - do a line only version. Eventualy built it with the bezier line to have it ultra clean. Draw your grid - (see Supervlieg's - and align all the details). COncept is interesting... more spooky then crazy.. but.. it can turn out interesting.

Oblio - it sucks.lazy bastard.

Spazazo - umm.. it looks like a rabbit.

Woodlandwalker - self portrait again ? clean and nice. a bit spooky

I decided to do a cameleon-character. It sure is fun drawing cameleons, people!

I didn't have stupid enough looking chracters, but I think the one I ended with is silly enough to qualify! Hope he is also simple enough. Please let me know what you think!




I'll still add the back view and hopefully color them all. I hope he is not too detailed - I know the rabbit example is very simple, so let me know what you think.

I've been an occasional lurker on these forums for a number of years but this is my first post. I'm going to try to start doing weekly design challenges with some regularity. I started this yesterday. I hope you like it.



Villaigoot are now known to occupy crawlspaces and attics of suburban homes in lowland areas of northern and eastern Pennsylvania. They are generally nocturnal, so infestations can easily go unnoticed for months or even years; making themselves known only when the colony becomes so overpopulated that the sick and old are cast out to make way for the new. These palsied outcasts will then often be found huddling uncomfortably close to sleeping occupants of the house, or coughing wetly while holding unwrapped food items they wish to share.

His fur certainly isn't so smooth as the average designer vinyl toy, but I think it could be done, and the design does draw on a similar proportion and shape language.

dragon4lunch - yeah, i used illustrator to get my shapes done quicklike....i work in this app all the time, made sense to go this route. only had a few hours to wrap this up, so i had to be efficient.

Hmmm, I know one has to be careful with comments like this, but I am surprised at how few votes my chameleon construction worker is getting. Is it technically or simply design-wise that much weaker than the two leading entries? Critiques and comments welcome!
