hey dude, latest updates are looking good.
Listen to what all these wise people have to say man...get an anatomy book from loomis, bridgeman or hogart or whatever and start studying seriously, if you want to improve really fast.Sit in front of it, read, copy the pictures. While you draw them, make sure you always visualize what you work on in 3d in your head. Then try and use what you've learned on something completely different.
Remember to keep the subject varied too, don't fall in a comfortable position or you won't be motivated to push harder.Always challenge yourself

keep pushing man, keep pushing, and make this SB grow...quick.

    ciao

    hey,

seems color is your weak spot, atm. do more color studies, also get rid of the white background when working in color, first. that's really important and helps a great deal to get better results with color! =)

    my man call0ps,

sorry im so damn slack and hardly reply to your book man
i really like the way you're using that pencil, great confidence in some and rawness in most. can i suggest something? try drawing form your elbow, really loosen up and draw big arcs to get your forms, this adds alot of life to drawings i reckon, great for quick sketches.

sorry about the foot, bad to hear, but im glad you're still at it! im really looking forward to seeing where you take your drawing in the next few months

also you draw women really well, chicks are haaaard to draw well.

    keep it up friend

hello callops, whats up man, i like that last one, good details on the pipes. A bit hard to see whats going on ( maybe im a freak but i see a crow foetus in there ?! ) Maybe its your scanner but this piece could use some darker blacks, and some cast shadow coming from that pipe would help with the overall 3d feeling in my opinion... hope you dont mind if i crit your pencil which are far better than mine btw. And something maybe you dont know if you use photoshop, theres a nice thing called auto-level that i always use each time i scan something, it fixes most of the crappy work done by the scanner. ( ctrl-shift-L )
    keep posting !

Yo dude, thanks for stopping by my book!

This has incredible potential as an emotive drawing - you've captured an awesome moment, fleeting yet timeless if that makes any sense. What it need is a more emotive style. I usually use hair, leaves or snow to handle this, to get that sense of emotion going better. Would like to see this one get taken further.

Would also have to echo Donkey. Keep them coming mate, and don't forget to work on the more technical side of things - anatomy and such.

    ciao dude!

At this point, I dig your pencil sketches most! You have a good eye for directing the viewer to what's most important.

Good start, Call0ps. One thing I noticed was that you tend to avoid full body sketches, because I have the same problem. And TV is definitely the anti-draw. And do some more studies! Keep it up, cheers.

looks great but it needs bigger masses of "dark" to create a rythm, now it's all just hectic and all over the place!

    good luck with the kendo!

Hey dude! Thanks so much for the constant support!

Last one does look great, think you should introduce more colours into the face. Keep it nice and desaturated, but add some blues and yellows and perhaps greens to the face aswell - very subtly! Jason Manley once said you can find all the colours in a good looking skin tone.

Looks great though, keep it up!
    ciao!

I agree with brendan and Manley about the the different being present in the skin tones. VEry much true. Btu ttis really hard to capture those colors because they are so subtle.
the pencil are wuite cool but the coloring need work. YOur a lot liek me, I am not that good with coloring either. Still keep working. PRactice makes perfect.

nice book going here bro. in your pencil work remember to feel out the forms and try to suggest volume by wrapping your values around the forms. on the heart for instance you might be better off suggestion the folds and bulges with variations in value rather than line. keep at it!

Argh missed a few updates callops, but anyways..
http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y11...transplant.jpg <--cool dude, cool. Really different, Nice rendering. Digis are showing good progress, but you need to do some head studies possibly, noticing little anatomy quibbles here and there on that digi with the female. And how long did that speedy take ya? Its not half bad for a start. Keep it up! ciao.

hey Callops things are coming along nicely here. love #77 and the first pic in #82. minor crit- the girl at the bottom looking down - her face and cranium appear to be at different angles/ sizes. I think that this can happen when you do not consider the mass of the head as a single unit. anyway keep it up!
