I've been playing a lot of Resistance: Fall of Man and Gears of War. Now I'm in this kind of monsters taking over the world mood. Anyways this piece is more influenced by Resistance. Not sure how well the perspective is and all. I'm going to need to get out an anatomy book for reference before I work anymore on this. CnC plz.

Was looking through a Norman Rockwell book, used one of his pieces for a little practice. I should probably be doing more stuff like this.

I watched a bit of Spawn the series. Thought it was pretty cool, wouldn't mind seeing the next part of it when it comes out. Anyways here's a quick little sketch of Spawn I did.

(quick question, whats the difference between the series, books, and curse of spawn?)

Just practicing faces and shading. I think the first three turned out pretty bad but the final one I did, in the lower right, came out pretty well. Hopefully with more practice I'll get even better.

Hey, very nice, your heads were very good, but your anatomy could use some work, i noticed that on some of the characters, like batgirl, they seemed rather...chunky.

Yea, I've been wanting to take that Batgirl out. In the end I just ended up erasing it. Thanks for the comment though.

I just finished reading Jurassic Park and have started reading The Lost World. Both are extremely good books. Anyways it just gave me the idea to draw some Dinos.

I'm having a bit of trouble trying to darw hair. These two where just quick sketches to experiment with drawing with just lines and have a grey midtone as my background.

Just more sketches. Right now I'm not really sure what I should focus on so I'm just going going back a forth between some things. Any ideas on what I should focus on?

Taken from pieces done by Glen Angus.

Taken from Oh! My Goddess. I wanted to try some anime for practice.

I think that with the pear you could perhaps outline the edge or put a background colour behind it. Just something to make it stand out. I also suggest (and I'm trying to take my own advice here) to work with values and line simultaneously. Apparently studies have shown that the mind recognizes form before line and it really has a big impact on how you work with value in that case. Nice job so far. It's awesome that you're doing studies already. later

Do you mean like using cross contour lines to establish value?

    ----------------

Some sketches based off the game Hellgate London. The one on top I used a reference, armor looks like crap though. Second one I did somewhat from memory based off some demon called a brute or something. The game itself is fun, they just need to finish it.

It's Spawn. Added this for the hell of it.

I need to go back to my anatomy studies.

Yea, I need to learn to press harder. I just feel like if I press to hard and mess up I wont be able to fix it.

I think I need to work on my line work. Maybe focusing on the line weight or just going through and cleaning it up better.
