great updates!
http://www.conceptart.org/forums/att...1&d=1181771235
my first reaction was "cool!" but then the shadows started to settle in my eyes and the line work with the shadows makes it look very flat...not that it's renderd wrong but the contrast of the lines vs. the darkest dark.
cheers and keep on updating! good stuff!!

hey man glad to hear you're having fun, i think the ears of the girl in the update might be a bit high and her armpit area looks a bit confusing (not sure the torso overlaps like that) other than that, its looking great![]()
i love! the superwomen its like me in the mornings!and the mars attacks...thats great!
You could take the spalk spark whatever his name is from star treck with the captain and do sumthing quite funny..have u seen the family guy episode with the captain?!...watch it
also hey whats with the censoring?! and oh im not used to this site or things like this...just got into it![]()
Today I have a little wallpaper for you. It is 1280x1024px optimized for most TFTs. If you want another size of the wallpaper please send me an email or PM me and I will post some more with the next updates.
Blaz: Thank you! I will not work on the last sketch any more. With 'in development' I meant the character not this particular image. This image was just a quick test I did. But I will definitely post more images of this girl later this year
hurricane: Thanks for stopping by and for your crits! I totally appreciate it.
paperX: Thank you too!
Jaz Ayling: Thanks for your comment. It seems like you came here from my website and registered to post in this thread... is this true? If so, a big Thank You! BTW: I don't know the family guy episode but I think I will have to check this one out...
Here is the wallpaper I talked about:
If you like this one, it would be great if you could drop me a line. I'm curious if you are interested in more wallpapers.
Best,
Chris

hey man the wallpaper looks nice, im not sure about her shadow though...it seems to lack depth (dunno how else to describe it) she looks like she's hovering above the ground sorta at the minute...just my 2 cents, keep it up man
I do enjoy this update. I'd say the same about the shadow, but that would be it. Stellar linework, quite excellent.
I think you need more life drawing, I still see alot of preconceptions in your work that would prevent you from being as versatile as you could be =)
paperX: Hey thx for checking by again. Regarding the shadow you are right... I was a little lazy with this one because I did not plan to do a wallpaper, just the figure in the first place. So the shadow was done very quick, same by the tracks and the light on the ground.
Discoskull: Thank you man! Regarding the shadow read my answer to paperX please.
Justin Oaksford: Hi Justin. Thank you for your comment. I concentrate on comic art this days without making this stuff too realistic looking. I prefer the 'unrealistic' stuff where you can see it is not a photograph. But you are right... I need more practice with life drawings to get more dynamic poses in the future. ... never stop learning
So first a little self promotion for today...

It's like zombie apocalypse, Pacific Island style!
That second one is nice and dynamic. Maybe that burning red glow could be pushed even more, so the main character really pops into the foreground.
Discoskull: Thank you for your comments!

hurricane: Thank you! I changed the skin in this one (see image in this post) on the background character. It is very dark right now but I will work over the two figures at the end and will add some more details later.
kischi: Thank you very much! I know the article you mentioned. It was very interesting! GameStar/dev is a great mag... so do not forget to buy my new tutorial when it comes out... hehehe

the first work on site three lookz sexy. cool stuff!
Flesheater: Thank you! It is good to see you like my art. I'm always trying to work more in thoughts of 'comic' then 'uberrealistic'.
Dynamike: Thx Dynamike! I bet you will hate me if I tell you I have an uncensored verion of this...hehe
bbwolf: Hehe... A big THANK YOU Kollege! You made my day with your comment on my art. Great to know you like it so much.![]()
mrpank: Thank you! Good to know my stuff is inspiring... I think this is the point I really know I can give something to this fantastic board and not only consume all the other fantastic art here.... THX!
zweiDee: Thank you! ... I will make you all so jealous now... I have an uncensored version of this girl too...hehehe But you say it... it looks sexy and that is because she doesn't show it all.

That's very interesting, I can't even tell what it is though. Unless I'm not supposed to, lol.
Very nice work in here, can I ask, do you have a full time job doing this?
This novels look like they are great fun to read. Amazing visuals.
Hehe, my pleasure if I was able to generate that warm fuzzy feeling of a day well made.![]()
Anyway. the last maddrax cover....um...seems like there´s "something" lacking in the front. At first I could hardly tell that he is standing at the edge of a small ledge high in the air. It all kinda smudged together with the HTG aka BG
Nevertehless, who am I crit you? I looks fanastic. What kind of info do you get for such a piece of work? Written instructions? A short sketch? Do the make you read the whole story and let yourself decide?
And what about the comic??? You finally got Alpha Bettie in gear?![]()

drd: You are not supposed to... you have to read the stories! Thanks for your comment. I'm working as a freelance artist on different projects at the same time... so yes I'm doing this as a fulltime job beside many other projects. In this biz I think you have to be some kinda 'Jack of all trades'.
Flesheater: The novels will be great! The original Maddrax stories are unique and much fun to read. I love them and I'm sure the spinoff will be as great... if not greater. Thx!
bbwolf: Thx for your comments! Regarding the covers I get detailed written informations on the content. I don't know the whole stories yet and talk with the editor about the compositions.
Regarding Alpha Bettie: Dan Taylor (the author of the book) will be back from SanDiego Comic Con 2007 tomorrow and I'm sure he will bring back some good Bettie news...
Regarding my other comic projects... I still can't talk about my new project yet but can give you a very small sneak on another one: Here is one of my first character sketches for my creator owned book I will do after my next project is finished... here it is:
Hope you like it.

btw chris, i also started a sketchbook today. would be cool if you step by.
all the best
Who is this girl... looks promising!? What kind of comic will this be (the creator owned) and what kind of comic is your project right now? Can you tell (or show) more?
I want more sketchstuff! Most of your work here looks 'finished'... what about sketches and more concepts? The rough stuff.
Don't get me wrong. I like your art, but I love to look at 'unfinished' stuff.
More like your last post...
