Hello Carbono, thanks for dropping by mate! I appreciate your kind words.
Hi pijus! Sory for mistaking your age hehe, still - your drawings are rockin'! Big thx for checking my sbAs to the "sketcher" website... Bro' that was the good old Sciboy's (if i remember correctly) sketcher developed back in '06 especially for ConceptArt. It's offline nowadays though
There is a separate thread here on CA, where people posted their doodles made in that app. The artgrounds sketcher is a different story. I did visit it however and as soon as i get my Wacom back we can do a lil' sketching session
Waddaya say?
I was listening to Ayreon yesterday, it happens... Here are the effects - i know that my construction suxxx big time hahaha, i just draw some ellipses, few random lines and built faces on them. A freestyle session i'd call it
Also i'd like to show you a portrait drawing made by my girlfriend, she kindly granted me permission to put this piece in my sb as she herself doesn't have one YETHope you'll enjoy it as much as i do! Oh sorry for the poor paper quality - this one's been made in my old "sketchbook".

najz sketches they have that loosness that I recently lack
That abstract joint on the bottom of page one is tight.
I'd love to see you explore that style further.
But that's just me. You don't have to![]()

It's been a long time since you last posted, Ink. I think you should update more often and work on your anatomy a bit more. Of course, I like those new mechanical designs of yours.

Wow, man, you got some really awesome stuff in there! Keep drawing!
i spent some time trying to refine shading and anatomy as advised by one of the posters above. Still can't get many things right, doing my best though
Also, thanks for your opinions and critique - always welcome!
Sorry for crappy quality photos. More to come soon. Hope you like.

I see a definite improvement since your last post in 2009. Facial/head construction, especially. Anatomy is always a tricky subject. I tend to play fast and loose with the rules of anatomy, but the advantages in developing your figure drawing can never be overstated. You've probably noticed that learning to draw anatomy is an intuitive process. It's not like you just draw a foot, and then you're able to draw feet like a boss. In the general endeavor of improving anatomy, I would highly suggest using methods such as: Timed figure drawing. There is very little that will teach you efficiency like having to draw an entire human being in under a minute. Like, you've got to illustrate that hand, and it's gesture, in the space of about two seconds. How are you going to do that? It's scary shit, but it teaches you anatomy in a very intuitive way.
Learning to draw in painstaking detail has its uses as well, but in terms of learning the core basics of proportion in anatomy, I have found that rapidity is far more useful. And for the record, your anatomy is already looking good. Just takes time and practice.
Thanks very much Fez! That's an interesting point you make there. I will try to put some time constraints to modify the drawing process a bit. I heard about Posemaniacs website, I even visited it a couple of times, but I never actually tried to draw a figure sketch in a specific amount of time. I think my approach up to this point was more like a full freestyle, no rules kind of thing. In fact i might have been reluctant to this kind of exercise because under pressure of time i tend to stiffen up, loose muscle control/memory to a certain degree and draw rather unconscious lines. This happened to me once or twice and I decided to draw when I have plenty of time to relax and think about the subject I intend to represent on paper.
As I said, I will try to implement the method you suggestedWe'll see what comes out of it. Your reasoning behind this is quite convincing and maybe I siply did approach it wrong. Always eager to try out new techniques.
Thanks again for your kind visit and sharing your knowledge, I apperciate it. I'll drop by to your sketchbook.
