    Lightbulb

The Glory days! IMO my best concept I've ever done (that I can think of..)

I feel closer to it, but my lines just have fallen to shit since Way back when... Gotta pick it up pick it up pick it up pick it up yeah...

And Greensock, the reason I'm not finishing one is because they all have crappy anatomy. I want to do it enough from ref and from mind that most of the big flaws are out of the way (big flaws specifically perspective and the Shoulders-neck-jaw area.) The rest are easily correctable, but I just want my confident line back. I have a new way of getting it though, instead of forcing myself I just imagine the lines on the paper before I make'em.

    NEEEEEEWS FLAAAAAASH.

    I ASK GIRL TO FAIR.

    GIRL SAY YES.

    COOOL
AND THX FOR REPLIES, I got tons of them and I HART YOU ALL!!!! Spent so much time on HW I couldn't do much but a few really really really fast heads/gesture things. SAWRY. Our garage door is broken (AKA My Studio ventilation shaft) so I can't do oils until it's fixed.

I got my bike fixed. Woo!

Applying for part time jobs, no callbacks yet though. =\
Getting more comfortable with digi media, though I don't do it so often as I should. I swear you guys... once I am out of High school and start going to Figure drawin on an average basis, I will be CRANKINGKNINKINGING.

    I like these.
A way to improve the line is to do as you say, and first draw the lines very lightly, so that when you finally know how the final line is going to look like, you can just draw it in with a single stroke, using the light lines as guides.

Sorry for my unamericanization in this area, but what is the fair?

    hmm, nice progress.
Drawings too sketchy for my opinion, although I dont mind it loose.
one thing i notice are the jawlines dont always connect properly.
Also, ears, do some studies of the cartilidge and shape inside. Just mirror it.
Digital is not bad, although the foreground is too light in my opinion+ more texture on the ground.
    good luck for 08 atelier

and dont ask your girl to pose naked for you, she wont

geeez Justin, you're just a machine haha. sorry I haven't stopped by lately, fell into a no-posting mood over winter break...

your dedication and work is all so inspirational as has been said many times. I assume these digital paints were speedies? though they don't have that rendered quality you're getting really good at, I still think you're showing form nicely in em. would love to see more rendered stuff from ya though. either way keep up the great work man

oh yes, speedy looks much better!
although It really needs something as a focal point, a figure perhaps;/
With the pen stuff, try using as little lines as possible, using 1 line to do a lot more.
Your brain reacts to time, the longer you spend on it( on the case of 5 tiny lines, you forget the whole thing next time, but by using one, its esier to remember)
Pencils are not bad in terms of values, but they seems messy and too random.
Dont smudge or anything like that, just use the line to wrap around, nice and cleanly.
killing.people has an excellent hatching tutorian which I learnt a lot from, check it out.
    Looking good dood

LURVE the two tightened up speedies, the forest one could use a bit more touch ups in the tree in the foreground, I'd either blur it further for some depth of field, or tighten it for more interest.

Pencils have really been tightening up, though some of the folds youre shading look more like black holes than twisting excess cloth. If you have to/want to do some specific drapery studies to figure how to get the cloth to turn more.

Oh and one thing thats been bugging me colour wise with your digis is that the colours are always so strong and saturated that it loses its effect. Play around with them more, using the brights as accents not midtones.

Good to see you broadening your horizons subject matter wise. Been trying to really jumpstart myself to do the same.

    Very nice speedies.
.. but damn those pencils are awesome. The lines especially.
But i'm curious, how do you fill you characters with that mid-tone ?... finger?
Anyway, keep practicing. It's real good to see you render some stuff from time to time.

Those forest speedpaints are awesome, nice mood there! You might want to try switching up the brush types a bit to make them a bit less muddled, though. Just a nitpick. :3

Nope, I just hatch it very flatly. I do my best not to smudge unless there is a specific reason behind it, and that isn't very often at all.

    Danke for all the replies!

Those speedies are really nice so is the gestural work.

Would be nice to see some longer studies though, I feel that you learn more the longer you spend on a piece.

    keep it up

Greensock, those are from life =P

We went to Fair for good grades, and they had a petting zoo. The animals were constantly shifting either for food or to get away from screaming children.

Colors will be changed.. just wanted to try and get the volumes. (Photo, not life =\)

well then i will just shut my big fat mouth and replace my previous comment with a high five.

Good work with the digi, likeness seems to be there, but those ochre-ish blobs are not doin it for me, they seem to be sittin on top of your face as blobs rather than skintones.
Lets you and me tighten up them drawings.
