Awesome Daniel!
You're really making progress with the digitals man! Try introducing more colour to better simulate light - Using PS's dodge tool is usually a cheap shortcut to this, but you will see what I mean when you use it. Try to manually introduce that effect - the subtle change in temperature, hue and saturation - to show light.
Like this last one, you are translating your style very well into the digital arena. Nice drama too.
btw do you have a chat program like msn or windows live? We sgould try organising an oC sometime like you said. I'm also on holiday now, until the end of Jan, we can oC all the time! We should also maybe try doing some collabs.
ciao dude!

your sketches are really great and powerful but you need to work alot in those photoshop drawings you shoud practise more... ahah my english is horse sorry![]()
Digis look good but you know what why dont you try copying masters , first do greyscale then try colors that might help. but greyscaling is important. it helps you understand tones and lighting.

Marco: thanks man. They're really helpful.
brendan: hey mate! tanks alot for the input. Things are a bit messy on my side, so i'll go step by step. Lighting and values are still a but confusing, but i'll get there.
And yeah, i have msn: crabeenlinox_at_hotmail_dot_com Can't wait to oc with you =)
whiteeeeeee: lol yeah i know.. i'm still a noob on colors. i'm working on it
bhanu: hey thanks for the advice. i'm always worried about which color to choose first when i didn't even set the values... i'll keep that in mind.
tiger: thanks !!
rich: i'll try

Here's some stuff i did during the christmas party... under the table.. hehe.
the girl was done in the tiny book.. that's why i didn't..And couldn't go too far in the details.
Got a new sketchbook, some white pencils...And some real indian ink !!...it's awesome, but it takes soooo much time and concentration...
i'll do some more.... but now i need some rest after all the parties, champagne glasses, late night swimming pool fun.. and all the rest![]()
...
Oh, and MERRY CHISTMAS!!
1 dollar sketch is the fucking bomb. Your faces are ridiculously good!
Hey dude, wasup!
these updates are great man! Love how that first one's comp is turning out, enforce the focal are some more and it'll be great. others are super too, those hands have been really well done. How do you apply the india inks? If you can, get a bottle of ink and a brush, goes much faster and is huge fun! Also makes you think more about what you are doing lol.
Toned paper is great, I need to start using my supply of it. Got loads here just lying around. Grats on those, very well done, you handle the highlights well.
keep up the good stuff, ciao man!

tensai: Alo ! I gotta check your stuff, been a while since. Have a good holiday you too =)
Thought i'd post something quickly. Been a bit too much lazy these days.
This one is refed, just a few minutes.
Hey dude, the pencils a tight as ever really nice stuff happening here. Also good to see you branching out with different media, experimenting keeps things fresh.
With the digis though i would have to suggest being a bit bolder, work with as big a brush as is managable for as long as you can and force yourself not to go into detail to soon. I think a long sustained ref study in photoshop would do your digitals a world of good, good knows youve got your values down.
Keep it up dude.

You're a dweeb and obviously paint with your feet, draw with your teeth and erase with your nostrils.
Your inspiration is obviously the local butcher's garbage dump and you without a doubt deserve to be his hatchet's next gory centerfold for all to see, an example for all concept artists worldwide.
NEGATIVE 50 STARS
you have brilliant sketches
damn how do you render like that? totally dig that clown drawing. great anatomy skills too
Adam: thanks alot for the input. I tried different approaches on the face i posted earlier. It's kindof hard to nail the brushwork from time to time. I want to add plenty of small details as i put down big brushes. I really got get new and more appropriate habits. So a long study coming for the next update =)
thirdeye: hey mate !! I gotta check your amazing creatures. hehe thanks !
Geewesley: thanks!
Cup: thanks i'll try
paperX: hehe, we'll see in a few years what i'll become. But for the moment i gotta practice... a lot more. Thanks !
tiger: no prob monsieur, thanks

Sopor+aeternus: hehe, i'm getting instant godlike skills straight from jesus every once in a while....just practice mate, alot and everything'll be possible.
Just some rather quick hogarth studies. More of these to come. His drawings are so simple and yet complete and informative. I should have started anatomy with him

cool updates man, yeah hogarth is pretty crazy huh
first page is cool
second one though, check his right shoulder it looks like its being ripped from the socket or something, its all skinny around the shoulder, also the neck is a little confusing at the mo, but that could resolve itself with shading an such...
awesome man! keep up the uberly super sweet kick assyness of the killer sketches!!!!!!
thanks for the answersur right bout my name.
looking at 210post, this design is very nice , especially the helmet, some how he reminds me of the guyver( slightly), it has a really strong contrast.
i´m not the big colour master myself , but i think if you would think in values more like you aready do in your lifedrawings , if you woulld the way mentler told youo abouot tones in your old sb , i think this would help out , cuz i know u could do it already .![]()
i really like how u ´ve done those inked ones , it gives your linework a new point of view, yeah on your most pics i´ve seen you have come better with the hands ,i´m seeing your gettin more confident with some perspectives of them now.
WOOT!!??
you do hogarth??!! you started it seriousy? cool but don´t rush to much if you draw em make better sure to catch out as much information as possible, and very imp0rtant everything you´ve drawn from that book , draw it from mind too.![]()
i wish you happy new year! , making even more improvemnets than the last on e ( and that was really a bunch)![]()
Interesting you're taking to Hogarth so much. He's one of those guys I'm really not that fond of, in terms of drawing instruction. Useful, yes, but in many ways your figures are much stronger (more fluid, connected, living beings, rather than dead posed limbs).
He might have some useful stuff to say about the connection from clavicle/scapula/spine to skull that might serve you well. I'm picturing some Bridgman drawings of the neck in action that are just rocking, but am not sure which of his books they are out of, probably his littlest figure drawing one.
really nice sketches!
hogarth looks so cool. damnz i have to finish my bridgeman books soon and buy me some hogarth stuff.
Hey Dan, great stuff here man. Really digging these studies!
We should do another session of OC again soon, had fun.

but heck! your shading its REAALLY good![]()
