HaHAA! Suffer under physics! Damn, I regret I had that. Shit subject for me it was. Good luck with it man! This is your last year at school yes?

K - the last one - is AMAZING. I'm really liking the rendering on the guy with the tongue, very believable! I'm also loving the way you play with shapes, the composition is bloody stunning.

Since you asked for crits I'll try pointing out some nit picking errors. Couldn't find any serious flaws, but here goes:

    - Watch the rendering around the mouth of the large 3/4 view head. I think the rendering around his mouth is a bit too much, and it looks like he may have something in his mouth. Just relax the forms a bit, "fuse" them a bit more and this should be solved!

    - Try to have as few highlights possible. These are reading absolutely fine, but your forms may flow better if there were fewer highlights. At least the works for me haha.

    - I think you can put even more weight on your beautiful lines. You might want to make them go a LOT darker in some places depending on what you want to do. Just a suggestion though.

Other than that I really can't see anything right now. Are you left-handed?
It looks that way by the way you shade, just wondering.

    Awesome work bro, keep killing!
    ciao!

Woah, those ink drawings are great! Very dynamic and simplistic.
The last one is good, but the 3/4 face seems like it has a few problems. Like Brendan N said, his cheek comes out, so it looks like he has something in his mouth. I can't tell why, but the bottom jaw looks a little odd too, like it's jutting out.
Keep up the fantastic work! (Oh, and good luck on the test!)

    Thanks lone wolf!
Monsieur Bhanu, thanks for dropping in. Lol.. i don't think i have a level or anything..i just draw, nothing more =)

So....long time no post. The test were good. I don't have the results yet, but i' don't think it should be too bad.
here are a few things... haven't done anything else since my last post ... yeah.. i should be ashamed....
The first pic is from a painting by Sir Lawrence Alma tadema...i have nothing to do with picture itself.. though i did change the face for a more personnal touch
I'll try to update more often... dunno when though.

hey man, pretty much just asspats from me... the last few are freakin jaw droppingly beautiful.... i wish there was something more i could say to help....

not to discourage you from your pencil work but more digis would be awesome, or even REAL PAINT! you just have your anatomy, line, tone and composition pretty much sussed (thats not to say you shouldn't push those skills even further) but it would be awesome to see you developing your sense of colour too.

anyway, i don't know why but i can tell you love drawing... so just have fun! and keep up the awesome work!

Nice pencils, but you should include the name of the artist and painting that you do studies of, not everyone knows who it is.

great pieces! how much time do you spend on a page generally?

I really like the light study with the two figures and the building... great tones. i like the way you lay them in also... your strokes, etc.

Do you reference photos, or draw from life, ..?

yo D! your master studies are excelent as always! not knowing most of em i would almost say you are the master.
my favourite on this site is post 133. even i see some mistiakes, i like it very much it´s because i see slowly a style of you coming out. browsing through the net lately , i´ve found travis charest , so i can say he´s a big influence to you ( hehe gotcha ) . yeah he´s quite a monster , when it comes to skills.
so to crits: the street glowers , and the architecture , don´t convince me very much . i see before you doing a portrait , u draw the lines in first, and then the shadows tec. . but the problem is this needs too much time most. so if u want to learn faster , you could maybe do some speed sketching of houses or churches ( very intersting the gothic ones) because judging your linework it could be a little more agressive maybe when it comes to sketching . in rendered stuff it´s impressive... hope i could write down in my bad english what i really meant.

Woah, that one Vigostar linked to is awesome!
In one of mentler's threads, he talked about how he (and the old masters) believed that you shouldn't do line and then shadow, but line and shadow simultaneously, so that both work together and you keep the whole picture in mind constantly. Just throwing that out ther, because I think that could take you places.
    Keep it up!

You have some of the freshest stuff I have seen here in a while and your progress has been astounding. Tell me, do you tend to use the same lead pencil all through, from start to finish? If so, which?
    I'd second what Vigostar said.

Vigostar: thanks ! Actually i really wanted to, but the paper is a bit fragile and pushing more the values would literally tear a hole in some places... I'll try some charcoal on it next time =)
Emeys: thanks !! school's taking quite some time, but i'll try to post more when i can.
homo: thanks !!..... your nickname is funny.... lol
Kronos: hehe, thanks mate! I'm trying to keep an eye on colors.. but i almost never get a chance to stay in front of the comp :/.... but thanks for the suggestion, i need to move my ass.
Marco: thanks ! Actually it's the first fully rendered and finished piece i've done 'til now. I gotta do more of these.
Armando: hey ! thanks. And yeah, you're right...i ddnt wrote it 'cause seeing the amount of people looking for his stuff, i was thinking that everyone heard of him.. gonna modify the post.
Lazy: thanks !! i'm keeping that in mind... but not my hand ....
Fae: thanks !! I usually stay an hour or 2 on a page.. hardly ever more...especially when i don't listen to some music. I don't often use photo or life refs. But i sometimes do some to rememeber how things work. Thans for the comment !
Goblin!! hehe! Travis charest IS an amazing artist. I don't often look at comic style stuff, but there are exceptions (you included .. ) I like the way he plays with compostion and his characters have a lot of personnality. Things that i'm always working on.
About the Gothic churches.. good suggestion. I've always been in some way afraid of them because of the huge amount of details.. but i gotta keep my mind simple. I'll try to get a good ref or spot somewhere in the city.
Cup: thanks mate ! I often separate lines and shadows so that i only concentrate on one at a time. Mixing both could be interesting, but i thing i'd get a bit lost on some places. But i'll try anyway.
Deselect: thanks !! I use a normal mec. pencil with an hb lead all the way.. but the paper is getting really damaged when i'm doing darker values.

For today.. a finished old pencil and a quick page i did during an birthday... damn cousins kept on running and screaming eveywhere... ... lol
That's all i've been up to these last few days... blame those stupid homework...

i'd love to see those characters in, like your last piece, an environment, a scenario! it'd help you tons in your work, right now they're just collages of characters...full scenes!

Now Daniel, this is really intresting to see. You're coming along so nicely. Love the Sir Lawrence Alma Tadema studie. Well executed. The last one have some intresting designs. Nice way to exagerate the ribcage and pelvis. The monkey like face have a nice touch to the character. Hope you finish them. But I think the one in the middle has his right bone pushed a little to far forward. And maybe the bulky arms work against the "skinny" legs

take care and share more please
