honestly i´ve been waiting for these since days, and you amaze me , like how much you´ve grown since i took a look at your las tsketbook from a-z ( really nice helps from mentler hehe) a question though could you tell me maybe what kind of pencils do you usually use. do you use for the darks an extra one? and how long are you sitting on each portrait, for example drawing nr 3 of your last update.

    awesome drawings keep it up!

Great stuff daniel! Its good that your doing more observation work, it will really help. You should try get yourself into some life drawing classes! Also with painting, if you finding it hard- do some monochrome observational work to start with. Main thing is keep working hard, good luck with your exams.

Awesome Daniel! Your pencils are getting so much better with each new update, and each time I have more catching up to do. Sorry bout the oC not working out, should try some other time...

Can't wait for the digis either - curious to see what you've been up to.
    ciao!

Goblinshark: hey ! Thanks! Actually i use just a normal mech. pencil for the first lines then start with a normal wooden hb. I mostly get impatient after an hour at doing a single pic, so i hardly ever spend more time on them. =)
Jabo: glad you like it =)
Spade: Thanks alot for the advice. I'm concentrating more on monochrome works now.
D: thanks alot man! Don't worry about the oc thing, we'll try again someday
Asgardian: hi ! The nickname kind of annoyed me after awhile and i decided to make another one...that's all =)
    thanks, i'll try.

...Man, it's been awhile since my last post. I hate school, it's taking more and more time...
here's a color study i did a few days ago, an oc session i did with a friend (i did the two figures on the left) and some poop =)

uff, glad I'm done with school. Scho-ools out for SUMMA! Scho-ools out for EVA! Know that song? Alice Cooper, classic.

Great updates Daniel, lots of improvement! With the skin, try out some more saturated and darker colours. In the self portrait thread, davi (1st) and Dutton's works are great to study for this. the only other thing (dunno if it has been mentioned) work with as big brushes possible. rather put value down with a big brush and take it away with another big brush than do it with a smaller brush. you should check out zhuzhu's 50 heads wpe's - helped me a lot in that regard!

Other than there is nothing for me to crit here really - awesome work man, keep posting!

    ciao!

    - d.

Whoa great stuff you got here.
Your pencil studies are simply amazing, i love them, they are so soft and lush.
Only crit is that here are to many heads, need more full body shots, good for the anatomy training.
    Keep it coming.

    Yo Daniel!

Hogarth is the bomb hey? Also got two of his book - Dynamic Anatomy and Dynamic Figure Drawing. Once I finish off this module (this week) I'm going to start studying them intensely. Maybe we could do some joint study group or something, dunno.

Awesome updates man, your pencils are really progressing awesomely. Your linework is topnotch, no crits there. Your shading is also great but I think it needs that little oomf to take it to the next level. If you are using pencil, you should use it according to how sharp it is maybe. Meaning, I always try to shade some parts or block in values before I sharpen it again. Right now it looks like you are shading with a sharp pencil... just a thought though.

ciao mate, keep churning out the awesomeness?

TheGnoll: thanks, i'm just trying another approach around anatomy. Loomis wasn't the most adapted for me. I'm still not very confident about the things i learned from him.
Marco: hehe, sure, just tell me when you can =)
Hey Brendan! Yeah, i like how Hogarth shows exaggerated shapes. About the joint study group well sure... but i think i should know what it is first
I see what you mean about the shading part. I often jump to quickly to the final value of the area, which just brakes the overall picture. I'll keep that in mind, thanks a lot!!
Cup: hey ! Hogarth is like Loomis of Bridgman, just an artist that made books about learning anatomy. Looks for them on amazon, they're really helpful.

So, just too quick things for today. Nothing interesting or good, just farting around.
Don't other about the poopy second page, i did during my the morning break right in the middle of people shouting and screaming :/

I have no idea myself really, just a passing thought. In fact coming to think about it I don't know how to make it practical....

Actually like those sketches - they feel a bit looser than usual. Love the face on the right of that second page - it has a lot of personality in it! Can already start making out the rest of the face! 5 stars again (new user hehe )!

    ciao man, cya soon!

Dude, I seriously dig your pencil work. It really is nice and fluid and your shading is great also. I see your breaking in your tablet as well. Keep at it and maybe try to do a more finished piece on there.

*bangs head on wall*...I seriously need to do more head studies...must stop being lazy...

Great updates, i like the idea in this one http://www.conceptart.org/forums/att...1&d=1162760468

I was just wondering do you using any specific kind of paper like bristol board to cope with the amount of rendering work you do?
