Mine were semi-dryed, but that gave the paints a good body for painting, kinda of like faux-sculpting. Give it a go man. Theres nothing as good as getting your hands dirty with the thing you love.

Pretzel- Thanks a lot. Be sure to come back soon.
Metal Fingers- I have tried the golden open acrylics, they work really smooth and stay workable for a long time on the surface, but here they are just too damn expensive, almost double the price of the usual stuff here.
I will look into again, maybe buy a few paints. Thanks for the suggestion.
And thanks for looking up the updates too.
phizpietl- Man, thanks alot. I just browsed your blog, and lot of stuff in there is awesome. Do youhave a thread at CA? Thanks again

SO I redid the painting a bit and rescanned it too, apparently the grain of the canvas is reflecting the light in a wierd way, but this version looks better.
Any help on photographing it???

Your paintings so emotional, full of different feelings. Like them so much.
thanks for dropping by the SB, and yea the open acrylics are spendy, I'm too scared to make the investment in switching over completely haha. what I ahve been digging is the open medium, it works great. Keep this stuff up man this last one is definitely interesting. good composition, and the suggestive female character in the shadows is great. good shit dude.
Ive been trying to pick up acrylics lately, i never have enough black or white i find, haha.
Im loving your work, all the headless bodys, i think the lack of head and, that theyre completely red gives them a feeling of rage, might just be me. But my favorite has to be the painting with the sock pupet, just made my day.
Huge improvements from the start of this SB, loven it!
dude, i love everything about this. your sketchs seem so natural and free.

Acrylic series is looking good.
When are you gonna start doing some gallery shows?![]()
Danka- Thanks alot Danka. Please keep coming again
Chr. Steam- I try to keep my work intuitive, even though I believe in composition, I stay away from picture making. Its all about the gut instinct, and hence it is about feelings. Bad choices of intuition can fuck up a painting, but when it works, oh god is it good.
I am glad that you find the works emotional. Much thanks.
Metal Fingers- Thanks man. Like I have said in recent times, I have been trying to keep it subtle and using the female form is sorta part of that. Keep dropping by here ok?
Nonobot-As are you using too much the black of white paints, or are you talking about lightness/value of the image.i never have enough black or white i find, haha
I have seen its always good to use white and black within some limit, its far better to make greys with your complimentary colors(with a little bit of b/w added to them for more grey value).
And always try to push the value scale as much as you can. I learned it late but wouldnt advice the same to others.
Well the red is again and intuitive choice, maybe it has connotations related to rage and such, but I a not entirely sure, the headlessness though is a probable metaphor for anonimity. I am taking the body as huma form, and not as a particular person. And try to see where human form fits in the compositions, The head/face is a obvious focal point, so I try to see what happens if we take it away.
One thing is that alot of people feel the painting as empty. But to others the works become more empowering. I am not sure if ones right and other is wrong, but I will keep at it to see where it goes.
Thanks for coming by
Come again
marc_redd- Thanks man, like I said earlier in the post that I try to keep it as free as possible, and I am glad it shows through to you. Thanks
HunterKiller_- Soon man, real soon, I am initiating talks to a few galleries who might be interested in my stuff. Lets see what happens. I will surely keep you updated about it though.
Thanks guys for all the love and replies.
=======================
A few days back I had almost given up on this painting, i was thinking of painting over it. And I also didnt paint much in the last two days.
Today I felt like, giving this painting one more try. I know it doesnt look very complicated, but somehow I managed to make it complicated.

Very interesting work you got here.....with your saving image problems, red on black usually comes out with artifacts when you compress it (can be a real beetch in animation) as there values are so close. Try save in differant formats like gif....sometimes you get lucky!
With this last one I think you should have divided the composition perfectly in half, instead of the thirds thing you got. It get justified by strengthening the concept - an equal split emphasizes division. The colours used for each division also needs to contrast more. Think a sort of light mustard green against a deep red, or a sepia/warm, light tone against a dark teal.
Also, right now it doesn't feel like the axe will drop on his head. If you flip the canvas, the movement will be suggested and the viewer will be able to anticipate the beheading.
That said, I do like all of them - I think it's a great series you have going. Keep them coming in brother>

p.s.:please do something about your messenger, haven't seen you around in a couple of months![]()
Kidult- thanks for the suggestion, I saved the file in PNG and it seemed slightly better. Will try other formats to see what comes close to being good. Thanks
BrenMAN-A very insightful crit my dear sir. I have been contemplating the use of a more contrasting color or tone for this one, just a bit confused I guess. And I wanted the composition to be cut in 1/3 cuz that made the figure cross the composition, I guess that doesnt really help the beheading context, i thought it would. And yes flipping the image makes the viewer pre-empt the beheading, adding to the climatic situation, but as it is acrylic on canvas, I cant really flip it. Oh well, atleast I am glad this painting is over, i struggled uselessly over it and I seem a little happy with the way it finally turned out.
And dont ya worry, I will keep them coming.
Cristian- hey bro, wussup. Well the messenger is working somewhat better, but i guess its just that we dont come online at the same time. i will change my timings. And we shall chat then. Miss ya brother.
Much love

These are nice man, your rendering is getting really good but I think you could start pushing more colors into your reds. More purples and blues in shadows, warm colors in the highlights, even just on a light overlay layer to keep it subtle. But these are your images and they all depend on what you are going for as I know you've stated you have several themes you are working with. Either or man just keep tearing it up! Lets seeee more comic pages and hope your visit out in the country was good. cheers!
Hey man,
Let me know what you feel about the colors on this latest one, I tried varying the hues, from warm to light and various places, but kept it rather subtle.
Yeah, only I can know the intentions behind the work, but if the intention doesnt reveal itself in my work then I think my work would be weak. So your criticism on my images is wholly appreciated. Its far easier to read an artist's statement and make up a few profound statements of ones own. But you read my images and then opine on them, I really dig that man.subtle. Nice man, that one in #1024 looks way better then the one above it! The subtle shifts in the shadows and the warm hues does a lot. I'd watch that left leg though, even if the hips are shifted down to the left a bit, the knees would still be more level and we'd see a bit of that thigh. Loving the stuff man, I want some more graffiti comics!
