this last page beauty!!, i'm litttle surprise cause no many reaction on the forum but i guess it's cause the style little too different than the kind of art on concept art (almost video game concept and realistic studies) in average,
    anyway don't care and don't stop !

    I see.
And I recently finished my redrawing of your pages, the most impacting thing I took from it is your use of organic lines. Generally I think artists feel much safer using straight lines rather than curvy due to the lack of variability in the creation. However curved lines always give some form because it is a rare to look at a convex shape dead on. So whether its the outer edge of the tricep or cheekbone, a single curved line can reveal the 3D form of the subject. Well placed straight lines can represent the figure very well, however in making the figure convincingly occupy a 3D space, curved lines seem superior in every instance. This is what makes your figures stand out, (specifically in the line work,) they are composed almost entirely of curved lines. But your work has a whole other aspect of depth in provided by the architectural environment in most of the panels. The definition between the orthogonal 3D buildings, and the organic figures has a beautiful sincerity in creating your environments. These two things are the reason that I think your drawings were so successful, the perspective is nice but I wouldn't consider it staple, or at least as relevant to the intention of my studies.
One other thing: With the coloring, I hear what you say regarding the earth tones however I think they are a little too muddied still, staying truer to the line work and treating it a little bit more like a coloring book rather than an open canvas, would help. That would also help to make it feel more like a comic book.
    Thanks,

    thanks for the love guys,
Christian- come on bro, we can make it

here is a conversation I had with a friend of mine 2day

HINA k: sir, he wishes to ask
bhanusbane: go on , dont be shy
HINA k: did u suffer sm kinda trauma in ur childhood or youth??
    HINA k: lol
bhanusbane: ahhh well , now dearie , thats a long story
bhanusbane: actually we have to go back 22 years back for that
    HINA k: heheheheheheheeh
    bhanusbane: no seriously
HINA k: on a serious note... he ws actually curious to knw y is it dt u r so much into murders n slaughtering n stuf
bhanusbane: I was being borne, the midwife said" such an angel" , then a noise comes and she says , yet again" oops I think that I bumped it on the head"
    bhanusbane: true, scout's honor
bhanusbane: seriously though, cuz I am just reflecting society thats all
    HINA k: hmmm
bhanusbane: and I am not even talking about murders
bhanusbane: just our desensitized mentality of ours towards the loss of lose and innocence
    HINA k: ahhhh
HINA k: dts so much like an artist speakin
    HINA k: wts wid u
    bhanusbane: loss of love*
    HINA k:
bhanusbane: well yeah, its a serious thing, the rigors of modern life does make humans more selfish,
bhanusbane: and I am sensitive to all this, sensitive to this thing where everybody talks about the rat race and the " my personal space" the more the world seems to shrink the more space we want
    HINA k: ahem ahem...
    HINA k: ok
bhanusbane: ahhm on a roll today
    HINA k: woah.....!!!
    HINA k: dt ws heavy
bhanusbane: well i know that women from my mum times didnt suffer from gynae problems(related to menopause) in their late 20s, I dont see any techonlogy making people happier, its just that we are getting too materialized to meet our spiritual needs, I am a just a filter reflecting that
    bhanusbane: mum's time*

    -----------------------------------
A lot of people get bothered with all the supposed violence, and keep asking me this, I am no sado - masochist, I know. I am just sensitive to the vibes of our times, and I do long for a peaceful time, like , I think I would have been a landscape painter if I were born in countryside. The connection with the nature there is so profound, its fills yer lung with life. I wish I had that. And I dont want to paint any painterly picturesque bullshit right now, we must see what we have made of ourselves and our society.

    Much love,
    Bhanu

    THE BOOK THIEF

    COVER ILLUSTRATION
Cover illustration(personal) for The book thief by Markus Zusak. I really loved the book and even though I loved the interior illos. the cover left me unsatisfied.
    Hope you like.

P.S.- I will be posting more book covers like this in the near future.

Wow that's nice! And a nice and profound artists statement. I like it when an artist can say why he does what he does without having to use pseudo-intellectual bullshit.

Man, I haven't seen this SB in a while.
Your use of colours doesn't seize to amaze though, beautiful.
I really enjoy the smudged approach in your paintings and your linework is just mad.

FAUST- Thanks, I do try to keep the words depicting my art simple, but I guess explainations are required and I must say, the things that I mentioned really do affect and shape my words. Thank you for the appreciation . Much love

Rotor-Welcome back , Rotor, hope you keep coming back again and again, ummmm, Thanks the smudged approach is actually pretty conducive to my nature, I do a whole lot of layer work and smudged pickin up the paint really brings the depth to those layers and I also use white to push the atmosphere in the piece too.
    Thank you

I really like your style and the way in which it's evolving! So much movement and fluidity! I also really like the choice of color in your paintings. keep up the good work!

In terms of good Photoshop tutorials, Coro has a great story-boarding one, which might be of use to you. Corel Painter, I'd say Jason Chan, Ryan Church and Puddnhead (both of the latter two are from the gnomon collection).

    yo!

amazing progress with the digis, you are getting the hang of it fast.
those faces in the last post are great!
im not so sure of the rest of the cover though. I think it looks a bit too 'fake' hand drawn. I think if you did that part analog it would be better. its spontanious, but misses the coincidences that would happen if it was done analog. i think. if you weant to do it all digital maybe you should think of another solution for the background, and maybe clean up the suits a bit.

    but still, great progress!

btw, what kind of tablet did you buy?

ajvenema - Thanks , thanks about the digi part, I am feeling more comfortable, its a nice feeling to be like a fleeting soul when you paint, you forget completely teh physicality of the tablet. Its quite opposite to what I usually do, which is, get really physical with the piece. And I would when I begin painting its hard since I am much aware of the tablet. So I hope I do get a hang of it.

Actually i dont know how to separate the figure from the background, and everytime I tried to paint the background i messed the figure, dunno. But I do want to have to have that analog feel. Any pointers how to acheive that digitally???

My tablet is by this company called Iball, its pretty cheap , the wacom seems too expensive for me to fuck around with , after I have done abusive this one and learing basics of digital art , I will get a wacom.

    Thanks for coming back though

    Hey Bhanu!

About time I left a comment on your sketchbook! I've been following your progress in the Finally Finished section, and you've got some great stuff. You have an instantly recognizable style, that even carries through into the digital realm (and that's not easy). I like how you play around with anatomy, you obviously know the human body well.

I really like the comics you did, your style actually works very well for narrative art like this. The linework is very expressive. With the colours, sometimes it's hard to see what's going in the panels because they're all over the place, but when you use a more limited palette they compliment the linework well, especially in the later pages. The panels with the guy in the yellow shirt are just brilliant, and I enjoy the little narrative panels.

Keep rocking that Wacom, I'd love to see what more you can pull out of it!

Softskin- Thank you , I want to get better at the rendering but thanks for the compliment.

Yingling - Thanks, I guess I realy have a temperament, and I also find that if one can translate their temperament through their work , the style( or rathe voice) is much easier to recognize.
I would agree now that I look at the comic that my lines feel better for narrative since they make the eye actually flow , but yeah at many places the color is dead and distracting, I really tried hard to change in the last couple pages, trying to unify the image, but I work harder on that aspect, so thanks for the reminder.
I would keep rocking and it feels nice to hear that someone is really following my thread , and yeah the metal/scrap sculptures are veryyy coool!!!!

PaperX- Thanks, yeah now that I am feeling more comfortable , I gues i should explore Painter more, but my god its one big software, too many things to discover, help me out with that will ya!!!!
    take care
