    Really excellent progress you've made.
Very enjoyable works of art, sometimes disturbing but that's also good.

CLo Chette - hello darling, dont we love doing sketches eh? So nice to see you here, keep coming back me lady. Thanks, take care

Sketch - Matty my boy, Hah, you missed the vagina????? dint expect that from you man.....dayum.....heheheh, anwyays . Thanks so much for the love.

aefx - thankso much , I love em' babies too. I wish I could show you those in person. I do believe that my art works much better when it has the tangibilty element. Hope to see more you here bro.

towy - Thank you very much, well the color choice is always very instinctive for me , and I am glad you liked it. Thanks again

Gax - By landscape, I think you mean atmosphere, you got it my man. I think you will get to see those in my next bigger paintings. Thanks you awesome frenchy genius man.

TASmith - Now that is a mother of compliments that I got. I think that immersing oneself in the painting is very important, most artists work so good, yet they paint their canvases from far off, Me Instead , I believe that canvas is a monster that has to be tamed everytime, and you just cant sit properly with it. If you cant fight , dont start a battle.

About the contemplation part, I noticed in my earlier works, that there were a whole lot of visual metaphors which gave viewer many literal interpretations , and somehow that intellectual/conscious experience came in the way of actually immersing in the work, subtracted a whole lot of elements , and that made it far more visual than literal , and opened different interpretations to the self.
    Thanks .

Flaskpost - Thank you so much, I gotta say I drawing styles are somewhat similar, and thats awesome too. I hope someday I can show you the paintings in person. Till then , keep coming back here brother.

Dragon masked mickey mouse carrying a doll head

Have you ever noticed how dark and fascinating chinese dragon and tiger masks are?
And how much horror there was to the humorous b/w mickey cartoons?
And Yknow what, doll heads arent all that cute, try having a look at them during twilight hours.
SO, here we are , with the image of two sides of the coin,
horror and humour , lavish and grotesque and innocent and deviant.
    ENjoy the show!

On the subject of dolls: One of my childhood friends had eccentric parents. He would always yell at his mother, but never said anything to his father, and any time I'd come around and his dad would talk to me, Tom would whisper at me not to do or say certain things - like his dad might hit me or something. Anyway, he had cable, so once we were teens, I'd stay over to watch MTV or whatnot. On the first evening, when I was going home, I stumbled on something I hadn't seen before. There was a babyseat in the dining room with a life-size toddler doll sitting in it. All dressed in real children's clothes, and buried with all kinds of cloth and boxes and crap, so all I could see were its legs. I freaked out because I thought it was a real kid, and didn't dare pull away the stuff on top. I know it sounds foolish, but I'm a scaredycat, and especially when I was young. The thing is, and maybe this is mean to say, if you knew these people, the idea of a dead kid buried under crap wouldn't seem too implausible. I mean - the idea of killing a kid, and then just leaving it there, and strewing crap over it like it didn't matter anymore...

I truly respect your vision. It´s not common here to found someone so fearless about what is nice and pretty and not. And just does his thing not caring if people will like his mikey mouses from hell or not.

TASmith - Really nice thought for introspection.
Dolls have spooked me ever since I was a kid, the fact that look so close to real , yet so deadlike , it felt that the doll is a mummyfied baby.

Yknow, people ask me why I paint horror, its wierd that people can watch horror/hack-slash movies yet when it comes to painting its always pretty/aestheticised that they prefer. I was think If I were a movie director I would be like Tim Burton and Alfred Hitchcock.
MOre than anything else , these guys give that spatial and periodical tension, and I also tend to do the same. The dolls also provide me the same device as the figures. ACtually it seems to me ,in my paintings the subjects are like devices than anything more. They serve a purpose.
Its not just about them(subjects), its not about horror, the horror is a device for those experiences of excitement the one gets with it. Its about that emotion that you feel, everything tends towards that.
    Hmmm sorry , long rant.

Towy- Thank you for constant support brother. Take care

Sketch- hey baby, i love you.

Ian Miles- Thanks for the compliement. Well I know its a peculiar thing I have and I do. But it also serves as an obstacle, too many gallery people praise me, but then say that they cant handle stuff like mine. They want me to do wierdesque video/post modern art and shit. They say that will give me better contexts, hah, fuck that. Thanks anyways bro.

    Intruder(The FLy series)
Dealing with intrusion of space , how something so small can affect the whole space around it. It somewhat perplexes me how bothered we are with cockroaches and flies , but we in our metros live in such small spaces, where theres always a lack of private space(while we more and more fight for Me-time and Me-space). Ironical , hehehe.

    HEy guys,
SOrry for the artless bump, but I had a question nagging at me for quite some time. Over the last few years, I have discovered for my viewing pleasure and for my friend's, countless awesome artists. And I do try to add them to the artsy threads at lounge and art discussion.
SO my question is , should I start a new thread about these artists that I come across?
And I am also thinking of starting a CA fine art thread, where people who are members here can post their more fine artsy/expressionist works here, what dyou think about that?

Anyways heres a link to a few of my Art friends at Flickr(Most of whom are mind blowing artists) , I hope you enjoy the views as much as I do, oh btw , some of the pictures will be very NSFW.

    My friends/contacts at flickr

    Uploads by my friends

    Take care.

Hey bhanu, great paintings lately, keep going that way, sorry I haven't commented before.

    About that question:
First of all, conceptart.org is the best art community I have found and it helped me very much. It stands among others by the superactivity on the forums and basically by posting tons of sketches, not focused on portfolios/galleries, but it really lives by exchangings the skethces, the insight and the approaches to art, making it really a community of artists talking between each other rather than just a place when you show your finished pictures to common people.
But then, what actually happens often here is just copying Wesley Burt in the sketchbooks and by doing the concept art by drawing pretty much the same sci-fi designs you have seen in videogames, saying "ahhhh!" to it and in the end, just produce the same looking mainstream videogames again. I am just saying, for some people who lives at these forums, Andrew Jones is the only contact with abstract art they get. Concept art is a part of illustration but many people here honestly don't have an idea about what's happening in the actual illustration, nor they give a shit about what's happening in fine art, in design, basically they just get art only from here and from cgtalk and such.
I totally don't want to insult anyone and I'll repeat, this is the best community I have found on internet. I am just saying how it could be better in my opinion: by more openminded approach, by saing to the users here "THIS IS NOT THE ONLY ART IN THE WORLD!!!" and by luring in here some of the awesome illustrators or even fine artists.
So to respond to your question finally, yes, I don't know how many people here will like it, but yes, maybe like we have sketchbook thread everyone, we also may have "inspire" thread where we will post, well, things that inspire us. I believe many of you got a dowload folder on the disc like me, where you put cool pictures you came across internet and you aslo got bookmarks in your browser with your favourite artists' sites and awesome art blogs, so why not share that?

Has it ever happened to you?
you have this scrap of paper lying infront of you , and you just mean to play with it, just having some harmless(sometimes) fun, but a freak accident happens and vI iola , some nice work comes out, thats what I felt happened with this painting, its a rather small canvas, just 10 inches in breadth and 2.5 feet in length.
rather like the payful quality we have here, I was drawing a simple arm when suddenly the part below the elbow felt a bit bumpy , like a butt. And the rest of it is infront of you, I liked making this one, hope you like viewing it.
    Enjoy!!!

I am an agreement with pretty much everything you said . I would say that the exposure to fine art/illustration has been limited till recently on the forums, and the coming of guys like Sterling Hundley, Jon English, Anita Kunz and George Pratt among others a much welcome boon for the rest of us.
But I still think the acceptance to different arts is still very much low, I dont see much appreciation for conceptual and post modern art . I know theres a lot of shit in the world, but I do think that coming out the "conceptart is all" is required too.
I will start two threads in a day or two.
First , fine art finds/inspiration that people can post.
Secondly, a CA fine art , where people can post theirs and others fine-artsy works in the thread.
Lets do it and see how it goes.
Thanks for the respond , it really helped clearing some doubts up.

i really enjoy looking at your paintings, Bhanu! always interesting things happening.
but, maybe a bit too much negative space in many of them. might be just my taste though, i dunno.
play around with some really cramped up compositions perhaps? could be fun.

Thanks for the comment Flaskpost. Actually , i intuitively want to use negative space as an echo of the positive space, kind of like, making it a super positive space, so basically the way the negative spaces sticks out(a lot of times through intentional brush stokes) gives the whole piece spatial tension. I like to play with the spaces in void and i like to give them specific abstract shapes, too. I can see ,though that, the eye also needs something filling, and hence your critique, hell even i feel the need to fill that space with something more tangible, but something that makes me create this aired out atmosphere , and the so called super positive space stops me from filling the backgrounds.
Anyways i think if you want cramped compositions, please do come back here in a few days, I will be having a few things that I think you might like. thanks alot. Take care.
