    Intuos 3 pressure?

    Hello all,

I am still very new to my tablet, an Intuos 3 6x8. I was wondering, how pressure sensitive should the pad be? Because I have noticed that I can drag the pen across the pad, putting no weight on it, and the pen will not draw anything. Is this normal? I mean for having 1024 pressure levels I would think it would be able to detect a faint drag. Also, in Painter, I have a hard time getting smooth transitions with my pen. It seems that for whatever setting, be it opacity, line width, ect., the pen sems to jump at certain points making very noticable differences in a smooth stroke.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

So, did you set brush tracking in Painter before starting your project and...did you set pen pressure in the tablet's properties beforehand?

And which media or tool were you using in Painter? After doing those above, you may want to tweak the default tool properties to suit your needs (and save these "favorites" in a new palette).

I have my tablet set up from the driver as "softer" so I don't break my damn tendons pressing so hard all day. In other words, you set the "feel".
