Agree with mario, big improvement. 3d looks fun, I've only tried 3d modeling in softimage xsi. Zbrush and stuff is probably a lot more fun than that traditional polygon/nurbs modeling I guess. Gotta try it out sometime.
btw, just something I noticed is that you leave out the eyes (or just cover them with some crazy mask!)
AND you need to update moooore!!!!![]()
Just went through your sketchbook from page one. You've improved a lot since you began here at CA. Kudos. I really like the 3D renderings you've been doing. Someone earlier suggested that you paint over one like Hurricane does, I would like to see this. Also, I think that you would improve greatly if you studied anatomy more and drew from life more often. Subscribed.
Ok! It's been a looong time since I posted last. No excuses to that. Been trying to focus on my art, instead of updating. I'll try posting more regularly!
~AA-ron: Couldn't agree more. Lips always take up my time...
~Lakka: Thanks!
~Texahol: Great comments! Thank you, really made me think twice!
~MonkeYoakum: Just playing around with an idea I hadThanks!
~Studio Colrouphobia: Thank you, glad to see you around here again!
~algenpfleger: Thanks mate! But it's your SB that is pushing me at the times where I'm slacking!
~WhiteC: haha! Well I've still got a while to go before I'm happy with the crabAt the moment 3D is only speedies, so I tend to start with a plain head-tool which you can download from the pixalogic website.
~marioucci: Having fun really. I loose track of that from time to time...
~zelda_geek: Your wish is my command
~Envisor: Thanks mate! Trust me, I draw figures and study anatomy, just shy really
here's a few scans: ballpoint, pencil, and a failed charcoal

I don't know what to say. I've been busting my ass a lot lately, causing my body to have a little breakdown so that I was sick in bed for a week. But now I'm pretty much better, and full of enthusiasm again! Even though I'm sick of school here, I am keeping it going, and remembering the years that are to come. The dreams, and goals. I have learned new things about myself. Found my attitude and inner spirit which I had lost for a while. I have found it again and am ready for whatever comes my way. Let's try this updating part again.
-Several things I didn't like about these updates, yet MagicMan suggest that everyone should show off their best and worst. This way you learn and improve. Improvement is the keyword!

Nice stuff. i really like those skull studies a few posts up, they're great.

Nice value studies - the last enviro has maybe a bit too much bright spots on the top - maybe a slightly darker vaule with some streaks of lighter value to suggests texture / edges in rock. A rock like anything else has shape and form so try to make some lines that suggests the contour of the rock.
Keep it up!
You're alive! And your values got so much better!

great to see you pushing yourself on the studies
on those value studies, try to get rid of those outlines in black. Think about the line as two different value planes meeting and then get rid of the line...just draw the two value planes meeting.
also, in general, I think you're going too dark with your blacks.
cheers!
Hey Sir, good variety of stuff since I visited. With the skull painting breakdown it looks like you take a very traditional approach with the darker underpainting. Do you prefer to work this way instead of jumping closer to the final values right away? is the extra time well worth it for you?
Rocks are tough, but that looks interesting...some balance needed on the left? You didnt bring those triangles into Zbrush did you - ok...its not a major thing but I've always been told not to since the flow wont be as clean - then again, you arent exactly showing off mesh flow! Keep it up and I shall return

~Kidult: I gotta work on it for sure...
~algenpfleger: Thanks mate!
~mentler: Thanks for taking the time to leave a comment!
~Texahol: I always think about getting rid of those lines, but for some reason I neglect them... and you are sooo right about the black!
~Jakers: I definitely think it is the best for me. When I look at colours on a certain object I don't see one, I see a mixture of many/several. Only together they create what our eyes can actually see. But I'm still learning, therefor I usually spend a lot of my time experimenting and using several colours rather than the spot on one.
Ok I'm not to sure what you mean when you say triangles, sorry... But like you said I don't show mesh-flow. 3D isn't my main goal right now, but I hope someday soon that I can really get into it!
School has really been killing me lately. Everything just heaps up and the question of what to priorities keep coming up. Been drawing late at night as usual, and or getting up earlier, but don't know how long I can go that way and still do good at school. We shall see.
Greyscale is still my major weakness! But construction, perspective, linework, female-body and lots more are other areas too. It's a neverending battle against yourself. I hope I win it
I am far from happy with these studies, but showing both my good and bad will help me improve!

rebecca
hey good work on all the greyscalestudies. they're definately getting better with each update. remind me that I have to do these myself.
great sketchbook you have here!
Values are getting better man! Keep pushing! Do more from life! Drop the noise filter!![]()
~Oxy : You are welcome any time, thanks!
~InFlame : Thank you! Your comment really warmed my heart!
~monotony : Thank you! I still have a long way, but I'm working on it
~algenpfleger : Just bought a mirror so I will be starting on selfportraits!
Drawing a bit every day now. It is a challenge in my tight schedule, but well worth it in the long run I think. These last studies are far from the best, but I tried new techniques and learned plenty, so it was worth it. They could use more work

Just a quick dump before I go to work... I am so tired today. School was slow. Glad the weekend is here, but then i start thinking about all the things I have to catch up on!
Don't take these video's seriously. They are more for my sake and pure fun. But ho knows, they could evolve into something better along with my progress
