    The mATriX has you...

I just bought the Animatrix on DVD and let me just say this... It was incredable. The animation is top notch and very stylish but the plots to the 9 short movies are even better in most cases. I believe you can see four of the movies for free at www.theanimatrix.com so check 'em out. They really offer a cool expansion into the cool settings and concepts that the Wachowski brothers created.

...I'm afraid that the 'Alien' series may have taken a back seat to my new obsession.

Very nice short films on the whole. Beautiful animation and beautiful story.
My favorite was Beyond. That was just a pinnacle of story telling...

The ones that I DISLIKED were:
    Program
    Matriculated
    and that running one...

I liked the stories.... Generally the quality of animation was less than Ghost in the Shell ...I was hoping Ghost in the Shell would of been a minium standard. Boy was I wrong...sadly...

I wish I would had wasted my twenty dollars on something else and just rented this...

hmm... I like it more than I made it sound...

    Really?
You thought the animation quality was worse than Ghost in the Shell? I thought it was better in practically all of them.

The animation was just as good as GITS. Maybe you didn't like the character designs. That woudl be a whole other area.

Yeah, I really enjoyed these shorts. I was kind of let down with the last movie and the Animatrix made me remember why I liked the ideas behind the first movie so much.

I was blown away by the animation and artwork myself. They did do a lot of experimenting and tried unusual things in some of the stories but I liked that.

I thought they were very cool. I'm glad they didn't just stick with "anime" They spiced things up alot and were unique. I loved the one with the girl that had the star on her face, beautifully done.

My favorates were "The Final Flight of the Osiris" and both parts of "The Second Renaissance"

I'd say me least favorates were "beyond" and "detective story".

For the most part, I was blown away. That's really saying something since I normally hate (detest, loathe, wish harm apon) most anime. I guess I'm just allergic to giant robots with swords, overly developed women in school girl uniforms and cutsey crap.

yeah. the Second renaisance was great. I loved that scene at the end where the representative of 01 is demanding to the world leaders that they surrender their "flesh".

    Davi:
That one was called Beyond. Personally its my favorite =)
You should try to get the movie "Magnetic Rose". Its by the same guy, and was really really damn good. If you can't find it under Magnetic Rose, search for it as a set called "Memories" (comes with the movies Stink Bomb and Cannon Fodder).

The artstyle in Kid's Story was damn damn cool.

kid's story rocked. I really liked the animation in it and I thought that the story was pretty good too. I was really happy with the level of animation and thought this was worth the 20 bucks even if all you got was the cool bonus features too, like those makin of things. Anyways, I accidentally started a separate thread before seeing this one, whatevs. Peace.
