Anyway- finally found your sketchbook. It's not like I'm particularly good at this or anything, but I'd definitely try to remember to start with your light and dark, remembering not to do ANY in between until the time is right. It really helps you set up your value relationships and describe three dimensional forms in a believable way. Too many highlights flatten things.

Thanks Mate! While I agree I could use a lot more anatomy studies, I think anatomy is one of my stronger suits, and I am sort of trying to let my other areas catch up a bit.

Stuff is looking nice, keep doing what you are doing. Main crit: watch the colors on your shadows, they're too black, making it look like you used the dodge and burn tool. Do some stuff from ref to get an idea on what to do. Cheers mate.

I feel that your life drawing is your weakness... and leads to better drawing from imagination, of course. I'm just saying... REALLY look at what you're drawing. There's so much more to your face than what you've shown. I'd almost argue, from our countless encounters and obnoxious conversations, that your self portrait is merely a shadow of what you really look like.

Have fun, but apply rules that make it make sense. On that last piece if you let some of those shapes overlap the noisy brush you used over the top it would add a lot of depth. Other advice, study your ass off and try to commit it to knoledge, because then when you feel like having fun, you have tools to make things happen more efficiently. Immidiate gratification is nice

This came out nice. Took about an hour.

As things get farther away from you they will get bluer. This is because the blue spectrum of light is the strongest, where as other colors are to weak to meet the eye. Google up some pictures of hills or landscapes and see what I meen. It will really help in things in pictures like the last post to have somthing in the background, far away, rendered in blue tones. You have good determination and update so frequent. That is really awesome, all it takes to get better at any thing is practice, practice, practice,.. *repeat for infinity* Your'e doing good man keep it up!

Generally your work is unrefined, there are some really good concepts which are falling flat because of the execution. Just try to do more studies, if you want me to try and show you what I'm talking about I can do a quick paintover of one of your works, just drop a line in my SB and lemme know.
