That last head doesn't read quite right to me, mainly the far leading edge, which i know is a total pain in the arse to nail.

Hey dished! Thanks for replying in my book, took you long enough! ( 1 thing about that, I guess i forgot to mention that pen and ink tiger is from 2 years ago, the wolf is the one i did last week!) One thing to look at is the head/face more often, and the muscles/bone underneath the skin, i find a recurring thing with a lot of 'characters' is people make don't bother putting any or little effort for character into the face or particularly the hands and leave the face in a neutral expression or the hands in a basic position and call it done.

Having said that, you do put some effort into the expressions for your figures and critters, but I think you can push the envelope much further. Hand studies and skull/facial muscle anatomy (forehead, eyes, nose, mouth, jawbone, cheeks, ears, everything!) I believe would be a positive direction to go in line with the portrait shots you're doing.

An example is this that at the same time I like for the subtle difference;



Whats in common with these three? They all have the same expression, but the right figure's hand is in a unique position which draws me to it straight away, not because the figures got 6 eyes or is in robes, they're irrelevant at that moment just because of the position of the hand and placement of fingers. People communicate the most using expression through their face and hands. I believe all others like clothing, are secondary to those two.

I just stumbled on a super old thread you started for a Vegas sketch group. I was wondering if you were still trying to get something like that together? I know there's a few events in town that offer figure drawing (some at the Arts Factory are weekly) and there's also a local Drink and Draw group that gets together on the first Thursday of every month. Just thought I'd pass the info along

Good stuff man, I think you should focus in the anatomy. You obviosly have put time into learning that stuff, but a little more could make you a great artist.
PS: Everything looks cool except for that protrait of a woman. Doesn't even look like a woman, and her eyes follow me in a diabolic ugly way.
