See? I told ya I suck at colour.. gonna keep working this biatch until I'm happy. Might try that grey scale value thingy m doobry that a lot of people do here with it. I threw some quick lines on to try and pop it and quite like it.. obviously lots of work to do!!!

awesome sketches, spuds. you have a very good grasp of female anatomy they come along very natural and sexy.
and I really liked the "puncture repair" sketch.
I think it has a lot of character and definately potential for a finished illustration.
personally I'd say you don't need the lines on that last piece anymore it reads without them pretty well. her upper body and face look great already. you just need to clean up the edges especially on the figure. so far the legs and arm are too blurry. get a sharp edged brush to make her pop more. also you could get a bit more color variation in the background as the second character and the spaceship and the sky are merging together a bit too much.
anyway it's just ideas and I like where this is going
looking forward to the updates on that one.

definately. much more energy like this.
as said,i'd go with flat colours,or atleast kinda cellshade style, really hard shadows and highlights.

i really like you lines man, you've got a very cool comic style, loved the tank girl piece...i think you should definately give a shot at a "paul pope"ish inking style, would work well with the lines. Not to adopt it as yours, but i think trying different techniques with different media might give you a broader range or possibilities with your work (and for some reason, that last one reminded me of paul pope)...i agree with the others that say the colors isn't up to par with the lines but...

man, i think i know really well how it feels, seeing i think i'm in a very similar situaton hehe

    keep 'em coming

    ciao!

Thanks guys. Gnoll.. I kinda get what you mean by the Paul pope ref.. honestly the only thing that I find similar is that i use a big brush and drew it fast. Pope a genius with a real asian flair and flavour and about 10 time tidier than me . I guess I'll take it as a compliment.
Still, great feedback and nice to feel at home again. Cheers all!!

17 | 10; 14 || What a interesting gesture, in the art of contortion and posture, the sketch method is just great and appropriate for the theme, very loose and kinked to the abstract nature of the subject content. The primary sketch essentially more fitting to the spirit of the theme, very blatant and brash. The harsh lines against jet black application of of contrasting values, make the sketch actually more stronger than that final piece. Great work.

Oh man - no posts for ages!!! got my Cintiq up and running! here's some doodles - the August is still a wip but I already regret it - no ref used and my eyes keeping lying to me! overall I am happy but it lacks the impact of the villain in my August comic Gluto, with his considerable schlong out.

    HAPPY NEW YEAR Y'ALL!!

the medusa piece is absolutely awesome.
last one needs some smoother transitions yet,my approach in this: colourpick the shadow, make a stroke, pick that one, undo the stroke, and go over with the new colour to blend highlights and shadows.
    let's see some more!

Man it had been too long since I'd been in here. That last girl has a Dan Brereton painting quality in her face. You have a way of drawing figures so that they always come off feeling natural. They have weight, relaxed spines, fall into natural poses. It's something I admire and want to incorporate into my art. Please post more often my man!
