    Thanks Serpian. Really appreciate it.
Just decided to enter the new chow.. progress as it goes. I'm up to 500dpi know. It's huge!!
Gonna post it when I am done including wips.
It's called the herald. I really had a good think about this one. It still got all kinky and shite..but hey ho. I really wanted to convey a powerful warrior that would signal the queens power and terror in advance. You know.. Get them proper pooping it for when she enters court. :-)

the last work shows great progress.
It would have been clever if you redefine your sketch to a solid linework thing (some kind of digital inking). So everything had a clear form, and you don´t have to guess or improvise. The coloring becomes quite fun.

Ok another thing which i don´t like to much is your shading. You just use black for shadows. Especially at the face pure black isn´t nice. Catch a mirror and see yourself what values are there really.

wow.. Thanks so much for the great comments. I am gonna post my fianl chow.. a bit messy but i ran into probs.. hey ho. I really enjoyed doing it though. There were some superb entries.I really tried to stick to brief and i personally think i almost pulled it off.. please vote if ya like it :-)

taeyoungchoi- cheers look forward to seeing you again!

kischi - you always give me great feedback. i am so glad you noticed that about my work. i really try to push a more realistic size in my females. My wife is a stunning 5 foot 4" and my true inspiration! More real women for all!!

Koto Stomp - sorry that nip never made the final cut.. hope you are not too displeased ;-)

Xaya- I know what you mean. I think the levels messed up on the ones you saw.. There are some very deep purples and browns but no blacks.. honest.
I get what you mean about tightness but i hate to give energy away and this always happens when i start getting tidy. All of my favourite artists hardly ever even under draw that much. I just wanna get the message over as simply and quickly as i can ya know?

With a herald like this one the Queen must not have any trouble getting her subjects to bow. Really killer concept, and it has come to a nice conclusion.

There is one thing though; her left arm (on the right) does look like it like up with the glove.

Also I thought at first that the proportions were off. I took the image into photoshop to check and they are right on. In the process though it dawned on me that the head looks small... maybe not small... but thin and petite when the body is much more bulky. If you compare the final to the original sketches her head lost a bit of girth in the rendering process.

Hope this is helpful... either way you have my vote. Very nice.

    Vale-

    Daraf - Thanks!
Euthyphro - Thanks for the detailed crit. Glad you like it. I get what you say about the head but i really wnated to exagerate the power and bulk of her body..maybe i messed that up> The left hand armour (her right side) is all different for a reason. The shoulder pad, higher arm band and leg band are on her defensive side ( exposed in battle after swinging her lance). This was a planned event,I just wish i had more time to detail them more. Thanks for the vote though.. I think I'll need it there are some seriously awesome entries for this one! :-)

really nice sketchbook, I agree with Camara, another coat of paint should really help pop out details but overall its a really cool costume. The Judge Dread sketches are cool, Judge Dread rules.

    impressed + + !

    Heyyy =]

I think you're ideas and techniques are awesome ! I'm currently trying to think up a good concept for my major body of work at school & looking at your posts really impressed me. The tatt design you made (for your brother, was it?) is a favourite and I love the sketches of chicks too. I'm trying to improve my figure drawing at the moment (for fashion but I'm starting with the basics: the female body) and was wondering if you had any good tips for getting the proportion and shape right ?
Anyhoww this has become a novel !

Lennon - Thanks. very humbling I'm glad you like em.

Grizzliman- lol what makes you think she'd date you? She has a large appetite.. I am sure you would make a decent starter.:-)

sugar&spice- wow.. Thankyou so much. As far as proportion goes I would just say use your eye and draw real people all of the time. And if you can't then speed draw from rude sites ( tasteful ones of course :-) Alt porn is cool for ref of gothy chicks in strange poses! xx

Warground Zer0- cheers. I agree entirely.. wanted to keep it all speedy and shit though.. oh well..... next time.

Camara- Lmao- a well thought out response ;-) glad you liked it. Cheers for dropping in again. Nowt wrong with the larger lady.

Looks like my CHOW sucked ass.. Hardly any votes.. I know the competion was strong but I still feel pretty demotivated. I thought it was about concept more than illustration but hey you can't argue with the votes.

Oh well.. I was thinking of not going into the next one and sat on my sofa messing with my brush pen.. here are the resuls so far.. Whatcha think?

Brushpen medusa rocks. The herald is cool as well. Sorry, nothing nut aspats again...

Well, if I have to crit something, it's that the herald doesn't seem all that finished to me. Also the BG is a bit distracting.

awsome stuff. Your worst crap is marginally comperable to my best. I really enjoy your pencil work most. I find that someone with a pencil (or pen) and paper reflect more honestly the person and their thoughts. No takebacks or redos. Very nice stuff. Thanks for sharing.

I really like the design of the bra and the dress itself.(The bra of the herald was also awesome ) It is a very solid sketch, so don't let you get down because of no votes. To be present is all that counts!!!!

your sketches are superb, thanks for showing the process of that gruesome concept of "the herald" its an awesome picture. I definitely enjoy looking at your sketches i envy them actually. I'm not the best in colors, however i find your images lacking some warm colors to bring out that certain umph. keep it up i love your art!

Maerrick - Cheers, I am trying with colour. I will try to take you advice on board.. I struggle so much.

donkeysayer - Thanks..I do like to thank people. I appreciate the comments i get even if a crit. The design is just a confused pattern to represent her mind and inner conflict.. I thought that came across?

Quick sketch.. no normal internet with my new job.. is sucks.. I rarely get time to draw, never mind look through forums etc..
