    Now that you know just about everything about me, I don't need to explain much. I talk too much. Uh-huh. Just starting a sketchbook so that I have more motivation to draw. And I love crits. I love them more than anything. I'm not english and my english vocabularity is smaller than I am, which should say a lot. So if I don't understand something, don't eat my head. :|

    And currently I'm especially working on making better: Perspectives, hands (fingers), hues, toes and drawing from realism/photo, changing anime style to more realism, overall anatomy, also similiarity and drawing 2 or more people in the same picture (but yet with unique lines and such. Mostly just getting rid of anime in my drawings)

    And my current aim is: To draw this pic(http://www.nic.fi/~shamppoo/Ladylongcigarette3.jpg, so that it actually looks what I want it to look like.

    This has the makings of a great sketchbook. GLad to see you taking this on. Try as hard as you can to keep it daily! You will get soo much better. I did pretty good my first year or so on mine and improved quite a bit. I dont keep it quite daily as much anymore but still post a few times a week. ITs a great motivator and helps soo much with the skills. Try hard to get even a little sketch up daily and you'll be nailing that ladylongcigarette piece how you want it in no time! From the bits I see here you're already on the right track. Can't wait to see more, much more...........

    And no worries on the english, seems ok so far and it's the art that counts! :-)

    Heh, I actually did have a sketchbook before this, but... well, it's complicated. i found my first account, the another thread didn't get anywhere and I just felt like starting all over again might be a better idea.
    This time I'll try to keep it atleast once in a week update, preferrably once in a day or two, heh.

    For the last half year I've been mostly on ragnarok online fan art forum, posting art... but somewhat lately I feel I'm growing out of it. I like more quiet places which center isn't people admiring you and getting lots of commissions. I like art for art, if I were to ever do it as work, I would take is as work.

    That being said, I thought posting this here;

    ... I would like to now admit that I actually draw anime lots. It bothers me that I don't post any of this stuff... just because I feel like ca.org isn't the place to post anime.

    ... I also draw anime bunny girls!

    ... and actually I can't draw proportionate faces either. ;_;

    Those are my sins. x:
    *Feels a bit better. Atleast until someone runs along and screams something unheavenly about anime styles.* But well, my secret love in anime orientated forums has always been realism and anatomy studies.

    This looks like a pretty good start to me - don't be too hard on yourself, just keep drawing from life, reference and your imagination.

    Life and reference the most of course.

    PLUS, If you like anime, post it. I have nothing against good anime, just people who use it as an excuse to cover their drawing ability. It doesn't sound like you are doing this, so post what excites you!

    Big frog; thanks.

    SEVANS; I was hoping for a reply like that. :3 Though i was waiting for some dissing too, heh. Thank you for the encouraging words, I'll keep on the studies, I do believe it will bring me to the point where I can draw a satisfying proportianate head.

    Here's a small perspective practise... I haven't really never drawn that much of furniture's as i've labeled myself as... erm, human artist? But actually I've been concentrating just anatomy a lot more. Now I kind of see how badly my lack of studies on perspectives is hurting my anatomy practises, so I'm trying to focuse on those a bit too.

    I found this absolutely lovely forum that had a thread of pride dresses... the lighting and size of the pictures is also very good for drawing purposes, so I couldn't resist.

    Hey Onis. I really enjoy looking at the quality of your linework. Any tips on how to loosen the hand? My linework is very tight and uniform.

    hmm, good question. To be truthful, it has just gone better without myself noticing it at all. I think it's just because I have sketched so damn much... also, I use alias sketchbook pro 2.0 on computer, so it helps a lot alongside with intuos 3 tablet. I do still miss the capability to shadow properly, though.

    But I have heard usually people draw circles before starting sketching to help to loosen their hand.

    I need to clean up my homepage...

    anways, here's a bunch of new stuff;

    Eyeballed;

    I drew meat on a dancer! zomg, her stomach makes wrinkles.

    As well, realism practism, eyeballed;

    This isn't actually anything too revolutionary, but I found out that there's a link between the back and breasts... In a way. Makes it easier to remember it, when I think those two respond each other in motion.

    My warrior chick in nice clothes.. I should add an arm to the picture, but I'm kinda already tired of it. I think it's too bad proportionally (I fought with the face for 3 hours... ) so I think I should concentrate more on just learning proportions of face.

    A big hello and lots of hugs, Onis !!
    It has been a LONG while since I last saw
    anything from you and I've been away quite
    alot myself as well ;// ....and our devoted
    Art-channel is dead as it seems. Oh well, you can't
    have them all ;P.

    But to the point at hand why we are here, let's
    comment up your newest and recent stuff!!

    There's so much new and varied drawings in here, that I wont
    be commenting on them individually, but let's just put some universal
    rule on them all, hahah.

    I find it that you have improved on perspective quite a lot -
    especially in the drawing with the stairways, awesome work -
    as well as the poses. You can draw alot of great poses, different
    and most of them are somewhat challenging to draw. It must give you
    a good sense of the body, the poses and anatomy as well. Especially
    in the anime-oriented drawings - such as the bunny girl - there are
    lots of difficult looking poses. Keep on doing those, they look awesome,
    were they complete or not! Try to give a color to one of thise and make
    one complete, just to see how you finalize one of them .

    The Ohime-Sama work is just breathtaking, the darkness that rules the
    picture adds alot to the surroundings and the overall atmosphere of the work.
    Yet you can see all the aspects from the princess! Just awesome work,
    I would love to have that kind of a work as a painting on my wall!

    The colored dress is just breathtaking, it's really well done and has
    a good sense of realistic clothing. Also the corset looks just sweet
    with all the flower-decoration and all, looking good out, keep on making
    bridal-dresses and other clothing, for that is something you can do!

    As for your harsh opinions of you making unproportioned faces,
    I find it that you are too harsh to yourself. They are not that much
    wrong in proportions, I tell you. You are very close in captivating the
    realistic proportions in them, and don't worry, it seems you are concentrating
    on many aspects simultaneously, so you improve yourself on many
    aspects at the same time. Maybe a little slower, but then again it'll pay
    off due later time .

    In the others I see good practise for poses and coloring.
    Keep them coming, for I too try to be more active around here
    again.

    Oh, and I got something to talk with you, if you still remember
    the Game Project I am working on... I might be in need of such
    talent as you, of which we talked in the early days, yet it was
    all somehow forgotten ;S ... but I am to be blamed for that.

    Well, I hope I could bring inspiration to you
    You got all the more better touch to your newest drawings
    and paints, I hope I can see more of them soon !!

    Take care!

    If you got problems with heads you might want to look into "Andrew Loomis - Drawing the Head and Hands.pdf", bottom link in my signture.
    That should keep you busy for a loooong time. xD

    I'll definately keep an eye on your sketchbook, I really like what you've got so far.

    Wow, thanks a lot of the in-depht feedback, Malavon. I haven't had those for a looooooong time...

    And actually, I 'finished' the princess girl, since I made a portfolio for one of our art schools (now I just gotta pray that I get in, I kinda screwed on how to put them all together...) Well, did the entrance things for three schools - one rejected me, secon'ds entrance exams start in few weeks and haven't yet heard about third. Overall I'm hoping I'll get to Evtek 3d-institute. n_n I've heard a lot of great things about that place.

    And, and.. I'll keep everything you said in mind. o/ Thankyous for the input, I'll come harass you some day with as lenghty respond.

    SgtDirtBag: Wooooow... I had Loomis' pdf files three years ago and they were really nice to read... I was a bit too noob to understand much of it, but now that I read them again it's like whoaz. So much useful info, thank you very much! And yeah, it has kept me quite busy... xD I'll post a bit of the anatomy sketches soon, when I have done a bit more of them. Mwaha.

    For the time being;

The pink dress is so badass… eyeballed doe that mean you used reference or not… if you say you didn’t then I’ma hate you XD . I am not a qualified in my expertise to say anything needs work so all I can say is badass job… time to subscribe to this thread .

    Thanks. ^^ And personally I do think that opinions matter as well - it's good to know what people like or don't like. :] So if you see anything you don't like, feel free to write that in as well~ critisism isn't a must, even though appreciated, heh.

    a, here's a small explanation on terms that I use;
    traced: take a picture, then a paper. Put the paper on the picture and trace it. (I never use this)
    eye-balled: Take a picture, then a paper. Look at the picture and copy the colors/lines onto the other paper, while keeping the papers separate. (I sometimes use this)
    reference: Take a paper, draw a picture completely out of mind. Then take a picture (usually from an anatomy book). Check if the proportions/colors are right, using that other picture. (I do this a lot)
    No reference: just paper + pen

    This is how I usually think of them. ^^ Sometimes when I say that I used a reference, it also mean that I eyeballed something small like part of lips.

    I love Andrew Loomis. *_*;
    I feel a lot more confident already about the faces and not so confused. Still need to practise a Lot though.

    Too dim colors;

    Just a normal color practise;

    I have a hard time drawing a person straight forward/back and sides, so trying to fix that... the position of feet is especially difficult.

    When I do odd perspectives, they turn out much better... haha, I'd love to know what that is about.

    Almost a year from the last post...
    I lurked into gaia to have a sketchbook there, it was nicely relaxing since almost no one looks in the deepest corners of it. Also it was nicely carefree there...
    But I'm thinking of attempting arts a bit more seriously again. With the fear of failure of not spending enough time to learn, but... even if I stop learning, it wouldn't be a wasted time. For the year I have just tried to accomplish more clean, detailed style, which doesn't vary that much from drawing to drawing.

    Here's some stuff I've done since then.

    Oh my fucking god! - Yes, he fucks me everynight, he does.
    Hail and well met, Onis!

    You've been lurking in the shadows long enough to finally post some new
    stuff on these hollow threads of yours !!

    Damn it's looking good and it's good to see you back on the trail as well!
    Didn't take me half a year to see your post, though I did stumble upon it
    by coincidence purely ;D , better that than never....

    Don't know where to start, but I can say that it's all looking good
    and I see some new styles and experiments going on in these pictures.
    The detail, as always, is astounding and truly strikes the eyes.

    Emotional side and the anatomy is as I always remembered; subtle and evocative. I would still like to see more complete pictures from you!

    The shadow-work (the one with girl on the guy, uuuh, porn) is really good,
    I like it alot and it creates certain senses (not talking about a raging boner here... ;D) to the watcher, really fine work that one!

    I ain't gonna individualize all the works together, but I see progress, enthusiasm, new styles and all together good feel to the works you provide!

    So keep on shooting the pen to the paper and keep us entertained by
    all the work you got .

    Hope to see you LIVE again, if not before Ropecon, but mayhaps then or afterwards!!

    I'm not sure what happened here, but I swear I was just going to make some coffee before I reply... xD I wonder how the hell I ended up proscanating it for 2 months.

    Malavon, I wish god would fuck me every night too. /ok

    And to be honest, I'm happy that you find the porn-pic good, because it's one of the paintings that I thought was succesful. xD Everyone else I've shown it blushes a bit and starts talking about how nice the weather is outside. This is why I like ca.org. /ok

    Thank you for the comment! I hope I'll see ya around at con too. hopefully I didn't scare you too much last time. I still rofl when I think about it... someone just pointed out that you're Malavon, and I screamed like a fangirl. xD It was fun, I haven't been fan girlish for a long time, but I guess the shock just got to me, hahaha.
    I think the guy next to you was looking a bit oddly at me though. rofl.

    ... aaand here's an image dump from the two months. :)

    I feel a bit disheartened about the things that I should learn - there's just so many of them, and whenever I start learning something... someone or I feel like I should concentrate on other thing that is worse off. x:

    Likewise lately I've been drawing so much anime stuff. @_@ I really need to break this habit off more, and concentrate on what's important!

    First sketch of a pic that could maybe go to a mmo calendar, if I'm chosen. I thought I'd try to sketch the subject for fun, even though I don't know yet if I'll be in it or not. :P
