    Bodies :: The Exhibition

    I went to South Street Seaport yesterday to check out the Bodies Exhibition.
    These are human bodies and parts preserved with an acetone polymer, which replaces all the body water with plastic. It was excellent. A really cool experience and I learned a ton about anatomy.

    Check out the videos at the site ::

    It was a work of art as well as science. All the systems were there, and they way they preserved the circulatory system was amazing, as well as bit surreal.

    This is coming to Science World in Vancouver next month, and I'm really psyched to see it.

    Oh wait, I just checked the site and it's actually not the exact same show, but it's the same deal. They're actually looking for volunteers to help out. I'd love to apply, but I have a full time job. I imagine that would be some fantastic hands-on experience with anatomy.

    Yeah, it looks pretty dope. I'm going to Science word to see it ASAP
    As the pattern gets more intricate and subtle being swept along is no longer enough.

    I think Body Worlds came first, and Bodies is a clone. Ive been to the one here twice....definitely a lot of fun, and great drawing exercises are to be had, too bad today was the last day.

    BTW, there were already two other threads on Bodies

    A couple of months ago, it was in Vegas, which is only a 3.5 hour drive from here. I wanted to go sooo much, but none of my family or inlaws wanted to go. Even my husband was like, "eh, boring." Everyone else was like, "Why do you wanna go see corpses? What's wrong with you?"

    *sigh*
