crits welcome.
latest monster sketch.
You got some varied concepts dude. That last piece looks very painful, nothing better than metal through flesh hehe. I really like the guy being disintegrated too, he seems to stand out for me for some reason.
Keep it up!
i got a question. when u do the black and white and change it to color, what kind of brush u use?.. wait.. i dont think thats the kind of question im trying to ask... uh...
do u just color right over the B and W? u use colors and have the brush set a little transparent right? when u paint over the B and W, does it kind of help the values stand out?
its a hard Question for me to ask..
anyway, u got a real cool SKB. im gunna keep checkin u out.

MrMan-thanks for swinging by and feel free to give sugestions or critiques on any of the pieces.
sickelsick- after i get the concept pretty detailed in b/w and round the forms, i create another layer, paint one solid color over the skin. then i change the layer settings to OVERLAY or HARDLIGHT. then i usually do the clothes on their own layer as well as extra accesories. and when i am satified i make a copy of all the layers and merge all the copies(that way i have the original intact). on this last layer you can add all the extra fine details.
hope that was clear and helps you out with you work flow, and yes it helps me with my values, and concentrating on form first, then color.
thanks for the comments.
heres a new one i am on, crits/ sugestions welcome.

here are some 10min silhouettes of nights
whats up. long time no see. i'm still up in northern cali, which is why i havent posted anything. i'm on dialup, it took me about 15-20 min to load your skechbook. anyway, i really like your character of the week, the guy growing out of the machine with the gas mask thing on. i almost like the uncolored one more for some reason. this guy: http://conceptart.org/forums/attachm...1&d=1158961924 is also super cool. the strings attached to his hands and legs remind me of a puppet, and it's like the machine in back is controlling him like a puppet. keep it up, i'll be back in san diego in a week.
"I must not fear. Fear is the mind-killer. Fear is the little-death that brings total obliteration. I will face my fear. I will permit it to pass over me and through me. And when it has gone past I will turn the inner eye to see its path. Where the fear has gone there will be nothing. Only I will remain."

havent posted in a while here is what i have been doing
i think i may start browsing the conceptual environment area. so here we go.
hello!
Nice stuff...I see an improvement in your painting with these last images. There still seems to be a lot of blurring going on. Its contrasting too strongly with your areas of detail and places where you have nice energetic brush strokes still showing through.
crits welcome
thanks for the crit, i just recently learned of a painting technique where i won't use the smugde brush, so i am hoping that will fix that blurry contrast. thanks for the crit TomCardin
