I voted for invinciblewombat because i loved the concept although a few things could of been done to it, Dile was a close second he would of got my vote if he put a figure or something in there for scale.

holy sheet man, a few exceptional entries.

I was totally blown off by plates and diles
Btw Plate, thats a HUGE improvement!!!
But needed some texture, everything is too smooth.

Diles rocked because it looked like something a early pro would churn out. It aint perfect, but its a step in the right direction.

Bendragon, Blog and Luxuns work was also quite top notch!
    Pixeldragoons made me laugh!
good work, i really should of entered this one

Blanquish THat was VERY nice said of you!
Thanks mate! Its the first time i get attention here.. so thanks alot guys!

However, Plate, I have to agree with blanquish, your improvement on this piece is sick! I was in your sb just a minute ago, and damn damn, this is so much
    better then your other stuff!
However. .be fore I realized that I had already voted for pixeldragon!
But In this challenge your on a good 3:rd place on my list and Evil_sloth is on second place, I once again voted, an hounest vote
on Pixeldragon, and Evil, this is because of two thing, first its alittle rough,
and the concept is highly inspired by el coro! however, I am hounered because you putted me on second , and you should be aswell, good work man!
Keep at it! everyone of course!

Mr Wombat got my vote. The concept is good and it fits the bill of robot-king. It looks royal and imposing.

my vote went to plate, I feel like it's really a step up from his normal entries and fits the topic perfectly. dile would be in second since it's just such a nice piece but I dont see the king part in it. bendragon and pixeldragoon get honorable mentions since I love the color pallets they ued.

voted sloth... although I wish he would reduce his file size a bit... I had to scroll and crisp up the milkyness in the background....otherwise nice job

Special mention to Plate whose piece is very well rendered

Thanks, but the fact that you said that and still voted for yourself kinda makes you a big jackass.

Anyways, I voted for Prophet. I really like the mood of his piece, and the expression of the robot is very fitting. Thanks to blog and wombat for the votes, and everyone else for their comments.

    Voted for invinciblewombat.
I really liked the fact that he didn't went for an anthropomorphic robot, his design is imo the most original and it communicates clearly the idea of "monarchy", it would even if that little crown wasn't there, it really looks "aristocratic". It could be a bit more polished, but it's really good.

I liked luxun's piece a lot too, I love that "solitude" feeling it has.

    Great work overall guys!

Dangit! Missed out on this one too.
I voted for Luxun, but Dile was a veeery close second. I think it could have used something more to set scale by, and I also think you overdid the texture.
Good job everyone! I'll try and get in the next one, but no promises.

    goooo luxun.

    some thoughts...

evil sloth- very ambitious and nice-looking piece. i think if the girl and the 2 robots on the left were better it would be a winnar.

narmo- cool idea and great composition. lose the text tho and maybe add some more graphic elements? like wires in the foreground, something like that.

pixel- i think it would be cooler if the blue dots on the top left were gone- they really bug me for some reason.

dile- think you could push the light and dark more. maybe on the left side of the robot some stronger highlightd and overall brightness while the right side has some heavy shadow, some parts blending in with the darkness of the cave.

ben- the graphic gear designs on the bottom of his cape are dope, wish you would have used that more throughout the whole piece.

    Cool paintings everyone :9!

Voted Luxun :9. I really love this piece. It's very very adorable, who says Robot Kings need to be big bad and mean! Very nice job with the lighting (and the glow effect on the lamp is neat too ).

Just my two cents, hope you guys don't mind the crits :

jake - Very nice brush stroke use I also think your choice of colour (I esp like the titanium white with those blues and purples) works really well here. I'm not sure if this is the fault of the camera, but you might try a brighter yellow/orange color and more circular brush strokes in the air around the crown... Though the orange works great against the robot king dude, against the blue it looks a bit murky and more like there's a brown patch in the sky (if that's what it's supposed to be then ignore me lol). Maybe adding some deep purple to the volcano? in the background would also help to balance the colours. Great job though .

Narmo - Really digging the saturated red/white/blue/black. Is the guy up front dancing? lol.

Blog - Well executed, but it actually took me a few minutes to figure out what part of the king was robotic... I thought the legs under him was really just some kind of skirt/kilt lol. This is partly because the texture you use for the background is used for the legs an arms, and partly because you've used a white contour line to delineate the figure from the hands-up... but not the waist down...

    Pixeldragon - Cute XD!

Anyone who blames the tools they use as an excuse for why their art isn't as good as others' won't get anywhere in life. I'm sure even Bernini could make art that would floor us all with a pile of playdough. Jimi Hendrix made do with a five dollar guitar, I'm sure you can make do with some pencil and paper.
