done with a mouse, really old. Dunno why I'm even posting o.0
Well what can I say about all this wonderful artwork?....Nothing! Or I'll get banned!
Hahaha..just a little humor there for you. See they are threatening to ban me now and I'm trying to prove that anything "offensive" I've written was meant to be taken as comical. Hahaha... See it feels good to laugh, right?
What I like best about this art is that there is no naked people! (joke, just a joke! haha).
Ahem. Well my serious opinion about this is that you need to draw from life/reference more. That's pretty much what I tell everybody. That's why I write all this other stuff. It's not meant to HURT anyone, just keep the post interesting!
Keep up the good work, and maybe I'll visit your thread again (if this post doesn't get me banned).

Goodbye..fromthevoid, I really appreciate you stopping by and thank you for your kind words!
You're absolutely right, my anatomy is waaaaay off and I should should practise more. I thought about life drawing classes but I can't afford them, besides I like learning things on my own better
I'll try my best to keep this updated,
Spats
Damnit, Your stuff reminds me sooooo much of how my stuff used to look like!
argh, its liek looking at my own stuffOh well...Dunno if you should take that as a compliment or not
so just ignore it, i just had to say it
However, I like your stuff! and yeah, fight the wacom , get some studies up!
Keep it up! I keep an eye on this thread![]()
Some cool stuff in here, Spats! It's great to see someone experimenting with different styles like this - I love your four-legged, mechanical bug-thingy, and your little painted tree study.
Looking forward to seeing more!

Ellow spats, tnx for posting in me sb. damn you too btw, im all fired up again and gonna start another head.
anyway, youre doing pretty well here i see. Not sure if it works for you. but i NEED to restrict myselve when drawing. Draw just one thing 15 times over really makes things easy. I just draw 10 heads simultaniously. 10x the nose, 10x the eyes 10x each step. I dono but it really helps me to FOCUS on the job. You`ll make leaps that`ll leave you babbling gibberish
anyway, each to his own, your results my differ etc etc. anyway, keep at it!!
ps
you got a lot going on, i quite like this one especially. looks fun and well, good

Wow, I never expected so many replies in such a short time! Guess CA has grown a lot lately
(c) - Thanks mate, I'll try my best to do some.
Dile - Thanks for stopping by! I will try to study more in the future, my anatomy is absolutely horrible >.>
mya - Thanks for taking a peek mate! Glad you like the crab, I spent a relatively long time doing thumbs and redrawing it. Maybe I'll finish it some day when I get a bit better- Absolutely love your stuff by the way, you should post more!
Banshax - Hey there! My pleasure. Seems you have great determination, I wish I wasn't this lazy
anyway here's some recent poo
real crap, yet again I should't be posting this >.>

That ashreay-thing and mouse back up at the top? Do more like those. If you can sketch an ashtray from life and make it look stunning and properly in perspective, just think of what you could do with the crazy subjects from your head.
I think you are awesome, and I wish you the best in your endeavors, but I am tired of repeating myself, I am very busy with my new baby, and I am no longer a regular participant here, so please do not contact me to ask for advice on your career or education. All of the advice that I have to offer can already be found in the following links. Thank you.

Opps, you draw alot , or are those old ?
[DONT POST OLD STUFF UNLESS IT IS AWSOME AND YOU ARE REALLY PROUD OVER IT]
Good stuff! keep at it![]()
Seedling - Thanks for your words. I do hardly any life drawing (twice a year or so o.0) but every time I do some I feel like I learn something new which means... I've been apparently wasting my effort for the past few years -_-
Dile - Välkommen tillbaka Dile! I do infact draw a lot. I do most of my pencils at school thanks to the incredibly boring lessons. Pretty much all of the stuff I just posted is "fresh outta the oven" a few days tops. For instance, the silly expression page is maybe a week. Anyway, I'm sorry if I broke some forum guidelines
I just recieved super-mega confidential lineart of a walrus wearing a fez(no, I don't have a fez fetish. Just a weird coincidence...) and I'll try to have something worth your while ready as soon as possible.
ps. sorry if I'm not making too much sense, didn't really sleep yesterday and feeling a bit droozy![]()

Hey Spats, thanks for popping by my sketchbook
I'm afraid that I can't give you any advices aside from PRACTISE ANATOMY!
Really, it's crucial if you want to become a professional artist, and there is no other term that you will here more here on ca.org than just that
I like the style that you have, and these sketches looks very clean
Keep it up!
What's up Zynic!
It was my pleasure and thank you for your kind words! I know I really should get a hold of myself and start studying the foundations of anatomy, got some sweet books on it.
Been really busy lately so I have hardly any time to draw, I will try my best to keep this alive somehow though.
Here's a draft of an image I thought about finishing(which certainly isn't like me). I'm completely unfamiliar with workflows and bad at using layers, I keep forgetting to add them...
Anyway the outline of the image is that x is picking flowers and y (being the dude standing behind) surprises him. And well, bah I feel retarded explaining this, another silly warcraft joke. A mate gave a few nice crits on it: like changing the perspective to be viewed from the flowers point of view. I got a damn cool image of it in my head but seems pretty hard to make
Any comments & especially crits are most welcome.

Nice work keep it coming! I think you have a bald fetish. =P
Hey Spats - Nice start on the sketchbook. For someone who hasn't had any training, you've obviously got talent. Keep it comin'
I'll stop back and leave some crits when I can. Must sleep right now.
Please stop by my new Anatomy Sketchbook and critique the hell out of it.

I like it alot.
Your brush tests are real good, the one with the palm trees looks like traditional media.
Nice concepts too.
Keep up the good work man!
Joe.
i like the photoshop quick sketches but i don't know how i feel about the thick lines. it takes away from the drawing becuse of the lack of life to it try some variations.

Hello fellow drawer,
I see creative things happening, lot of cool characters.
I really enjoy your use of color in the sun scene with palms , brushstroke is like pro do.
i see you're doodling on your class notebook, this make me remember a lot of things. I just recommend you to force yourself to finish those drawing they can be the most interesting ones. And sure you're not wasting your time, even if you don't draw like they do in academy or school you're making your way to great art.
Keep going i'll be watching this thread
Hey folks, sorry for no updates. Been a bit hectic lately with school and all.
aryul82 - Hello and thanks for stopping by! Guess you're right about the bald thing
crazy3dman - Hey there, thanks for your kind words!
Mr-Joe - Hiya! It was my pleasure and thanks for taking a peek in mine!
camilografix - Hiya! Thanks for stopping by and thanks for the awesome crits! I'll try to something else than linework in the future.
zou - Wow, thanks for your words!
Anyway, here's some stuff I found time for. Got pissed at my lack of knowlege for anatomy so I whipped out some 'hogarth-ish' thingies.
it' boring yeahjust fiddling around with some cool brushes I made.
went through some books I had and this is what I ended up with o.0
sorry for posting superquick crap again. It's new though
was trying to figure out some compositions etc. for the flower picking piece but I think it's still way over my head so I'll give up for now
some Hogarth studies. These things are pretty helpful(the hand isn't reffed by the way, haha)

Hey spats, you seem quite able to draw on a wacom, something I havent mastered at all. Anyway, if you want to improve on the anatomy, perhaps let go of the value stuff and use the time you gaing to do more anatomy?
also, what seedling said: it pays off to stick to one thing and do it often. Heck its easy even. You dont have to invent the weel everytime over. You build your skills up with the once you acquired with the previous scetch. Works for me.
I do find you brushwork mighty fine. Keep it up but dont force it i guess. Drawing and stress dont work too welll
hello
In one of your post said you want to take life drawing classes but cannot afford it. You can use photo refs to accomplish the same result, although it may not be quite the same.
Oh, I should offer some crits huh? Let see, others mentioned anatomy, ummm there's ummm .. <shrug> keep studying anatomy![]()
Banshax - Hey there. You have very good points. I'll be sure to put them to use in the future
OldNoobie - Thanks for the tip. I'll keep working on the anatomy then
a relatively quick rough for a carebear-angel of death, might eventually become a forum header hehe

I like the last two things you did. The texture on the first is interesting to look at, and the second shows an improvement with the anatomy side of things.
thanks for visiting my sketchbook.I see you are quite interested in drawing, but unfortunately, that isn't enought. If you wanna get better, you'll just have to keep drawing and drawing, and improvement will come. But one thing i can tell you, is that before going digital, you should practice alot more with trad media.Just focus on one thing at the time, practice and you'll get better.Make sure you get your hand on some Loomis books, they are THE best to start with (but don't just look at them, the only way is studying everything you see).At this point, all i can say is keep this threa updated frequently, and improvement will come...good luck
ciao
dindon - Hey there! Thanks for dropping by and thank you for your kind words
TheGnoll - Yeah! Great tips there mate. My knowlege in traditional mediums is practically non-existant, so I'll be sure to pick up some cool stuff when I visit the 'big city' next time
here's an alternative for the angel character - lineart by a mate(upper right corner)
nothing extraordinary - realized I'm working with too big brushes most of the time. Anyway, just trying to get a routine in drawing those little guys

Hey Spats, i like how much facettes of your mind u are showing to us in this thread. But i think it could be useful to concentrate on concrete subjects like environments, human anatomy (faces for the beginning), etc...
Perhaps u do too much different things to learn efficient enough. my english sux bad but i hope u could follow me -_-
