Formwise this ain;t working - the tones a too diffused and makes the whole face look flat. Contrast-wise it's still far too dark. Add some lighter, warmer hues to resove both this and the problem of form, and a lightsource, because I'm not feeling one here.

The green on her lip aint doing it either - either make it a lot darker and more unqiue - so that it doesn't appear so arbitary - or change the colour.

Like the Renaissance feel it's starting to develop though.
    ciao!

Oh, I just use the circle brush and adjust it to form an elipse, then add a slight angle.

Pay attention to Greg, folks. That's about a semester's worth of art school in one paintover if you know what to do with it.

phenomenal greg! that helps all of us!

d00dle, i think you need to understand the drawing part of it before you jump into PS. im seeing from your other thread that you dont have a clear understanding of why some edges are soft and others are hard. i see you drawing outlines and filling them in with soft shapes to try and define the form. edges are hard where shadows are cast by a shape blocking the light, and soft edges occur where the form turns away from the light. in both cases there is a reflected bounce light of lower intensity coming from the shadow side. its this that makes a drawn object appear 3 dimensional. id suggest doing some black n white studies before you continue to attempt this in color. walk before you run, ya know?

theres tons of info on this in the learning subforum, you should check it out.

Hi, gregpro. What's your brush setting in Photoshop? Do you turn Opacity and flow on?

if it's photoshop, I don't think the opacity is on. I think it's on hard edge with both pen pressures on, am I correct? or is the paint over done in Painter?

I agree with everyone on here and thanks so much for sharing the paint over Greg, your the shit sir

it looks to blurry, try to correct that, give it more shape, detail, and...well just work on it, dont worry about the time that you loose.

wow, that really makes a difference in my painting in Photoshop. I've always had trouble with painting in that program and always did a most of it in Painter 9.
