DirectX10 shader for painterly 3D rendering

    Hi

Here is a model not done by us, the model is from the MS DirectX SDK.

We have just developed the painterly rendering shader for DirectX10.

It's suppose to mimic hand painted qualities.

    What do you think?

    Cheers

You need to make a render that's closer to the model (camera zoomed in tighter) before I can really say anything. This is too far away to tell if it's any good or not. Really interesting idea though.

May I also suggest not only rendering a character with the shader, but an environment as well? It would be interesting to see if the two would compliment or detract from each other.

Yeah, from this distance it's hard to tell. How about more pics and up close. This is a really intresting idea! From the looks of it, it looks like it's replicating watercolors? This would be an intresting idea if it could help influence edges and form.

Time for a new close up sample

    Hi

It's time to test a sample on you guys.
Let it it load completlly and it will rotate nicelly.

After a while you see we just use one type of brush and you see what one. We can use different brushes as well, we are doing a paint tool for this.

As I said it runs on DirectX10 hardware comming this XMas to a Vista PC near you....

Let us know what you think again...please

    Cheers
