Your really got something going with the woman and fetus theme. I like the armor on the guy in your painting. Is that a normal or digital painting?

Hey! Sorry for not dropping by in a while.
I'm stunned by the last update *studies hatching* *studies painting* *falls over*.
Oh, the knight fellow's right eye area (left eye to us) looks a bit flat - shouldn't it curve a bit more along with the head?
Nice work, man. I really like the giant caught in the tree branches, great piece. I think that your last one, the guy with the shoulder armor laying down, seems wrong somehow. Could have benefited from paying more attention to the highlights on the armor, and also the head seems a bit wonky, but can't put my finger on how. Keep it up man!

woot!
I really like your grotesque subject matter. Floats my boat it does!
The womantreefetus is looking awsome. Though... her boobies don't quite agree with the perpective, it's all goodYou gonna try colouring it? I think a few subtle watercolour washes would really make it pop out.
Also, that painting is awsome. Would like to see more like it.
More crits to come next time you update, for shizz!

nice studies, great imagination.
Cool foetus-tree woman.
That painting, is that oils? Nice rendering either way. The face did turn out a bit flat. Keep in mind the curvature of a cylinder in space when working out a 3/4 view.
Nice new stuff. I like the branching out :.
Hee people!
A very slow start for me this year...
@Isobel: Thanks! Hoe was de expostie is Amsterdam? Zeker een beetje dood daarzo![]()
@LiqiudJack:Thank you. The painting is traditional, in acryl.
@Seer: Haven't been visiting here for a while myself, we should been punishedYou're right about the eye, i had some problems with it.
@Sepulverture:Thanks! Yah, had alot af problems with the traditional pieceHard to work with paint again when you're used to the computer. I tried to push the undo button alot:p
@Bunny:Good one! dindn't see the boob problem myself! The color washing...hmmm that something i never did before and a bit scared to do it on this one hehe. Should try it in the future!
@JustinBeckett: Thanks man!
@Max: Thanks man, the painting is done in acryl. Watching those problems in the future!
Ok, now for the update... i already told you i had a slow start![]()
The thing about watercolourss or ink washes is that they're hard to control, so yeah you should do some experiments in that area for a bit if ya want
man oh man! Nice update. i loooveeee that crazy musculature stuff. Reminds me of body worlds. I've actually wanted to get into taxidermy or something, to do things like that.
What are you using for these things? Pastel? When I use pastel, I'll sometimes go in with a really sharp prismacolour pencil crayon or 4B pencil to hit some of the details - like if I'm workin on a portrait or something.
Cheers

Yep, using pastels there, i'll keep the tips in mind!
Here a study of a caravaggio, if i'm not mistaken. And a picture of a jezus kind of dude, trying to implement what i have learned from the study.
Good updates, I like how your work looks like your are studying ,paying attention, thus learning. Keep it up.
Thanks Daraf!
Ok, i bought myself some oil paint. Never used it before and thought it was time to begin! And i must say, it was great using it. Still i have to get used to the turpentine fumes hehe. I sat down for 3 or 4 hours and got pretty high, no wonder van Gogh cut off his earMaybe i just need to ventilate...
Nice oil! Something's bugging me about how the light hits the right side (left to us) of her face in relation to how it hits the hair. Seems to me like some of that hair ought to leave shadows or get illuminated. Idunno ;p
Nice job on that oil! I'm a sucker for complimentary colours and bright whitesI'm in agreement with seer over the lighting though. The light seems to be pretty intense on the side of her face, there should be some pretty intense highlights in her hair.
How big is it?
Keep up the great work

doing well!!! nice work!!!
Oils look really good. The illumination you already know about. I won't beat that red-headed horsey to death. Carravaggio is one of my favorite artist. Studies look pretty dark as he painted.
Thanks guys!
Yeah, right about the light...painted it from ref and got tired of it after 3 hours so i kind of left the hair as it was. Bad excuse i know
@bunny: it's 30x20 cm or something like that, rather small.
And time for a new piece.
I bought a huge roll of cheap ass paper, put it up against my wall, and got crazie with some charchoals!
Ze result:
Oyeah, don't ask me what happend to her head...i guess her neck is broken so that's why it's so odly twisted to her right shoulder![]()
Very nice getting all messy with the charcoal. I would imagine using a canvas that big, it would be pretty tough to be totally correct with proportions. Excellent stuff, man and it's the little crazy things going on that's catching my eye.![]()
Your proportions are a bit off, but you are improving rapidly, keep doing those portraits because your head and face structure is improving immensely. Good work!!![]()
Crazy indeed!
Other than her broken neck () my only crit is that you're not spending as much time/effort on the mongoloid babies/freaks as you did on the nekkid lady, and it shows. The one clinging to her hip, you might want to reconfigure the way its head is attached to its shoulders.
That's all! Can't wait to see it finished.!

Thanks people!
I already moved on to other things, left the wallpaper girl as it was, maybe i'll work on it later!(that probably is a no)
Here some sketches and a digi thing.
Hiyo. I really dig the last one.
Try to push those values dude. Would it be rude if I requested a tonal study in black & white?![]()
![]()
The shadows and highlights are very nice.
The top guy (digi) has his chest in an akward position. You show his left chest contracting (depressed) and stretching (abducting) at the same time. I believe... in real life he would have the top of his shoulder rotated towards us to perform that move. Unless you want to change his serene face to screaming in sheer pain. Good sketch work all the same.
Heee people!
Been busy, but i'm back, for all it's worth
Soo little update time.
I have been working on a fairytale a friend of mine has made.
I have to make twelve illustrations, so far i got three, and they are still wip's.
The head of the guy in the first pic is still ref i have placed on top of it because i had major trouble with his damn head. Ofcourse lateron i will paint it myself
The last pic is just a speedy i was working on today...got sick of the fairytale...already, hehe.
I hope the pictures aren't to dark, i only seen them on my monitor at home, and it's pretty bright.
Sooo, more updates from me soon i hope!
Cheers,
Beershite
man... i'm pretty sure i posted here but apparently i didn't.
i really like the colour palettes you've used![]()
the lighting http://www.conceptart.org/forums/att...1&d=1176847747 here is really interesting
Watch your perspective, though - I think the composition in this one http://www.conceptart.org/forums/att...1&d=1176847766 could use some tweaking. don't know what that army guy is doing with his hand... hm.
keep on posting man!

Awesome updates:
I agree with Bunny...good use of color.

A little Greek Mythology...nicely done. All 3 portray a story very well. The strokes make the first pic look "clay like" to me (lack of words).
Good stuff ....this round definitely has my attention
Heylo dude.
Like Bunny, I think the second fairy tale illustration is quite interesting. I'm impressed that you keep doing scenes with people+backgrounds. I've had some problems with that. Give us more soon, please!
Stay well
Been very busy so it has been extremely quiet in here! But here is a quicky i did yesterday.
Sorry sketchgroup peeps, will check your stuff when i get back from vacation.
Tomorrow i'm off to Peru! Jippiee!
