A quick generic female face and, "the fat baron himself."

And boy, did the baron's pic get dark. Darker then I thought it was earlier. Note to self: watch this with darker images.

Beo the last two are actually good but too dark. I've been guilty of doing the same thing myself so I should just shut up! I think if you work the highlights and the lighting just a tad more they'll jump out.

Good to see you're still at it Beo!

I do have to say that the two newest ones are too dark for sure, but I think you already knew that lol.

I think that the baron is a bit better than the girl's face. But I'd still watch out on proportions. Try doing a couple of studies of overweight folks and then jump into him.

We should get on sketcher sometime. Just like old times lol.

    HOLY CRAP AN UPDATE!

We've got a quick facial I did last night, a goblin I painted some two months ago, an update to Vladimir Harkonen, and marker rendering of Beo. I really like the way the marker drawing turned out. I did it with markers, pencils (black and white), a little white out, and some Photoshop clean up. A few things got messed up by my over-Photoshoping it (like losing some of the line in his leg), but it's alright. I could always fix it later.

I should note that the goblin and Harkonen are old, but I thought I'd share them anyways.

    Hey Beo,
Nice job on the last batch. Goblin looks much better, it's a great dynamic pose. The girl is also nice, I like the colors and the way you have some blurring on the bottom. Gives it a more realistic render look, almost like a DOF.

While I like how you upped the contrast on Harkonen it's not nearly enough. I took the liberty of an overpaint in GIMP for about 10 mins, some things were changed but the main point is the contrast and showing him off a bit better.

    LINK

You've slowed down with your posting a bit recently and I think it's done you some good actually. You're generally painting characters now and there's more that comes out of your work than there used to be. I still wish you'd draw other people than that ridiculous elf girl and the stupid Beo elf, but you got to get yourself off I guess, I'm guilty as charged myself of rarely deviating from my comfort subjects. Still, in your case I really think you're limiting yourself and slowing your progress.

    Anyways, cheers and keep up!

Well, here's an actual update. The first of a slew coming down the pipe. I'm doing a series of sketch dumps featuring a bunch of things I've doodled and drawn since June 2009. Hopefully this will get me in the habit of uploading on a regular basis again.

    Here are some monsters.

Unfortunately, the one today is too large for Flickr, so consider it a preview for the larger one on my Blog. You can find a larger image there, as well as, a link to a DevianTART page (of all things) containing the extra large version.

Xmas pinups. Right now I'm debating how to color the pinups. I have five of them and don't know if I should make them full color, shade with the single blue, or leave them sketches. I may make more, depending on how these turn out.

I have all five on my blog: http://www.wolflog.com/2009/11/xmas-pin-ups.html

Like the title says. I'm currently playing around with holiday card ideas. I like to do a weird one or two along side something more normal, and this one definitely gets put in "weird" category.

Upped the saturation, lowered the yellow glow, tweaked a few things to make it look better in print.

Anyone wanna guess the font? It's a subtle joke.

Hmm, it had been a while since I visited here, these are very good updates Beo. Especially like the Santa, I think you can work the belt a bit better right now it screws up the perspective. Also perhaps give him a bit more of a belly?

Maybe too late for comments like that at this stage of the work. I really like it though and trying to think of ways to improve it.

    Cheers!

So here's something funny. I drew this earlier in the week and made a boo-boo. The character Beonarri is left-handed, and I have it as a strict rule to always draw him as a lefty. I think since his arms are crossed, I had a mental fart and put the main sword in his off-hand. DERP

Well, anyways, here the progression of the drawing, fixing the mistake, and painting it. Getting the short, curved sword complete was a bit of a trick with Stamping and Copying.

Also, I'm posting artwork almost daily (along with comments and reblogs) here: http://wolfoverclocked.tumblr.com

Here's 20 years of artistic advancement. I drew the first drawing when I was six, the second last week.

The first I posted on Tumblr a while back as a part of this 30 questions thing. The second was just for fun.

There are a few things I think would need fixing in the second, like the lines on the shield and a few things that got a little too dark. And, I just realized I forgot to color the two circles/ovals on the shield. D'oh!
