I missed a lot of cool stuff here! I`m very fond of your little gesture pages - very believable and energetic poses, great work! Also I like your body, head and especially leg`s studies - very nice. And it`s good to see you`re continue drawing doodles from mind - my favorite is one with "I hate legs" mark, nice lines and damn elegance in it, who cares that it`s just a doodle? Keep up the good work, bro!

Max: I honestly don't remember which one was first, I just hate legs xD. Loomis ftw!
Ulver: thanks alot Ulver, very motivating words ^^

I'm very sorry I haven't posted in ages, dad took his camera to work and didn't return it for a week or two . Got it back home yesterday though so it's time for a megapost.

btw - I just ordered Bridgemans holy Bible, should be here any day. I can wait!

Lots of variation in this post, mostly doodles but also some anatomy studies, figures (the good ones are reffed, the bad ones probably aren't), some daily superspeedhands and also some drawings from the SW: episode 3 artbook (got to borrow it for a couple of days, it was totally awesome).

Enough talk, here goes (these took ages to upload btw, no more mega posts for me ):

EDIT: It seems I can't upload any more images, did CA go down? Whatever, I'll post the other half later. Got 9 more.

Good to see a new post. Thought you got lost in the land of academic testing somewhere.

I especially like the figure on the right on the first page and the hand studies are great.
    Show me the other 9!

Max: Thanks Max, here comes the rest.

Most of stuff on page 1-3 is reffed from that Star Wars artbook I talked about.

Shinryu: Thanks Shinryu, I'll keep up with the studies ^^

Beware, I got myself a copy of Bridgmans's Complete Guide to Drawing from Life. This book is so awesome, I love it, can't stop drawing from it. Really, I can't.

Everything except for some hands is from Bridgman.

Ulver: Thanks a lot Ulver ^_^

I didn't want to post another Bridgman load (which is the only thing I've drawn this week) so these two will have to do. Two quickies from ref. (please ignore those horrible arms on the first on, I didn't intend to post that )

    Cheers

Your linework is still the tops.
I'm really digging those geishas from the last, last post.
I want to see them in a really sweet color photoshop composition.
and no " I have a big test" excuse this time

Very nice SB, Olle. Your linework, grasp of form, and dynamism are excellent.

I really think you need to start taking this to the next level. Do some freehand stuff, and get over that leg phobia...don't just end your gestural studies at the knee, maybe spend a couple pages just doing from the waist to the floor...

Also, those lines are just begging for some coloring to make it all come together...maybe just start with some highlights and shadows, or some two or three-color tints.

max: lol, I actually got lots of test this week (not kidding) . I'll try to get some color in there next time, I promise. Thanks for supporting me max ^^

BludHund: Thanks BludHund. The reason it's been less freehand lately is probably this damn Bridgman book, I'm working my ass off to get through it (I've gotten two thirds now ). I'm sure it's gonna pay off in the end. More legs and color, roger that, I'll see what I can do. Thanks for stopping by

Like I said, lots and lots of Bridgman again this week, makes this post kinda boring. I'm too lazy to post a bunch of studies again so this is all you get . A little girl scribble, no ref on that and... a bunch of Bridgmans, my desk is flowing over. xD

Lets hope for cooler stuff next time!

    Hi Olle Werme,
All your exercises are very good, but I like the gesture studies the best. Even from photos, one can learn alot. Keep up the pace, you're doing fine. Copying other figure studies, like Bridgeman's drawings, is a good jumping board. Eventually you'll take pieces that you like and build your own style. Copying for me, taught me much about design and the thought process behind an approach. Keep it up.

AztcFireFlower: Thanks a lot AztcFireFlower, I'll keep at it.

max: I agree, I added a little bonus photo for you . Thanks for keeping with me max

BludHund: I know, I feel like a real slowpoke, never again!

My teachers seem to love to stack up all sorts of tests and exams this time of year, I don't think I've ever been this busy with school. It's not enough an excuse though, drawing should go before school, right? Haven't really been slacking off all to much drawing wise but forum browsing and stuff has been less then little in the past weeks, I really, really hate school. *sigh*

Enough excuses, I finally got through Bridgman! Not that I'm done with it but it feels good having gone through it once Weeee

I'm currently very much into heads, I hate them with all my heart . Every single thing on them are so god damn hard it's not even funny. The general shape of the head, the face along with all it's features, hair, neck and how it attaches to the head and shoulders, I can't seem to get a single one of these right. If anyone can come up with some advice on good exercises or things to study, please speak up, I'm desperate.

Random Bridgman, figures from ref and some really ugly from imagination, more random studies and some heads from mind... and for Max, the final Bridgman stack, a couple of hundred pages ^^

    Cheers

    Bump, I'm alive! ^^

BludHund, Ulver, Tom and max: Thanks guys!

Aight, I've just started out doing some traditional mediums, watercolor and inks in particular. Hard and fun .

Here's a couple of pages from today and some from the past week.

Figures were timed to 60 sec, was using http://www.posemaniacs.com/blog/pose/ which I found over in bumskee's SB (Thanks Min ^^). Was insane hard, I've never done anything like that before. Gonna try to make it a habit to do a couple of pages of those a day.

The ink ones are Sargent, Mucha and some random ref. Using watercolor just for value sketching. All the environmental stuff are are from mind except the last one which I reffed from a digital painting I found somewhere.

If anyone know anything about watercolor I would love to know, 'cause I really don't know what I'm doing.

    thanks for looking

How do you set up the watercolor papers? Looks pretty wrinkly...
It would probably help you to tighten the anatomy, if you mirrored (or turned upside down) your drawings. Some features at times seem a bit unbalanced, and you'd likely spot those if the image was somehow flipped. Or maybe it's just a question of will to correct them...

    Oh my...

Those are awesome studies! I like them all. Don't have crits here because I think you're studying exactly what you should be studying, so ehh keep it up?

I do have a few questions; you get most of the poses for gestures from characterdesigns.com right? But where did you get the skull refs from? I really want to practice some of those too, so please tell me.
And also; just to pass on the link: go to www.posemaniacs.com/blog I love the 30 second drawing there, might be nice for your gestures as well

I'm subscribing, so expect me back soon ^^
I'll try to be a better critter next time.
    Love
    Marleen

EDIT: ULP! Are these A3 or A4 pages?
