New stuff from today. A couple of heads from imagination and some gestures and pelvis studies. The head in complete profile is from photo ref.
Sorry for the low image quality, have to take all these with a crappy camera.![]()

Hello Olle!
You`re doing great, be sure! I really like your heads and studies. You have a good feeling for proportions and understanding of form and planes of the head - that`s the main thing! Your line is also looks good - very free and accurate. Juts one suggestion -try to add more contrast in your drawings. Keep it up man, good work!
Thanks a lot for your comments Ulver. I'm trying my best to get away from a bad habbit of going over my lines 200 times - It's hard though! I'll try work on my contrast. Thanks again!
Here's a new one for today, I thought it looked ok in real-life but when I got it into my computer I went fromto
. Posting it anyway. Probably the worst quality yet, the paper it supposed to be white.

An update a day ha? Seems I'm failing already. My recent work have been so cluttered I just can't make myself post it, sorry.
Here's the cleanest work from yesterday. A dual portrait, obviously with photoref(can you tell who those guys are?), and some arm studies.

That heads are nice! Great work on hair. On last piece - Will Smith and martin Lawrence? Anyway that`s look good! And that girl with a sword - I like her very much. Keep on going!
i dig the looseness of your style.
i'm trying to get that going on myself.
Ulver: Yes! Smith and Lawrence it is, guess I guess I captured some likeness after all. Thanks for stopping by again.
max xiantu: Thanks man, my looseness is a major problem I have. Although it's nice to some extent I always tend to draw a bit to fast and not really taking my time. I'm also trying to learn to draw with my whole arm and not just the elbow/wrist/fingers which I guess plays a role in it as well.
Here's some skulls Ulver inspired me to do. They are kind of cheap, just profile and front views. I'll do some hardcore varying angles tomorrow.

Alright, I actually do digital too. I recently got myself a tablet but haven't been drawing all too much on it, I simply feel very unconfortable using it. It doesn't feel like a have a tenth of the control I have in traditional. Guess I just need to use it more.
Anyway, I did this sketch. Followed the life drawing workshop loosely in the latest Imagine FX. Around 50 mins.

Very nice painting! I really like your colour work and would like to see more! Great skulls from imagination as well - I need to draw them from mind too![]()
Ulver - Thanks alot Ulver, I always get like:- reading your replies.
I did another digital, same style, 70 mins. Sorry for the face and the hands but I just can't get them right. Drawing details like that on a tablet almost feels like drawing with my right hand... argh, I hate digital right now![]()

Hey, Olle! Thanx for replies in my sb, you really motivate me to draw more! I look at your two last posts and think that you can do a great paintings with a full palette of colours. You can paint, man, really! In the last piece her right shoulder is a little off, I think, not sure. But the rest is OK. I very like this one. So keep it up, you`re doing great work, mate!
Ulver: Thanks, I'm happy I'm motivating you, you seriously do the same to me ^^. I totally agree about the shoulder, I couldn't make it look right no matter what I did. Maybe there's something off in the head/neck area as well, I'm not sure.
Two really fast sketches today just 'cause I didn't have anything else to post. First of is from imagination (did level adjustments on this one scince it was really light, drawn with a 4H pencil) and the second is roughly referenced from one of the new ninja girl pictures over at characterdesigns.com

That`s great sketches! Your line control is very good. First one looks really "sketchy" - I like it a lot. Just one moment with right hand - it`s a little longer than left. The girl is very beautiful - great rhythm (in Loomis sense) and nice line in it. Keep on going!
if you had trouble with face and hands on those digital pieces, (which are very nice by the way) you might try painting more while zoomed in, or just give yourself more pixels if it gets too pixelated, my rule is to push the limits of whatever machine I'm on. Get as hi-res as you can without getting that noticeable latency between your brush stroke and the line appearing on the screen. Once I started using higher resolution and getting up in the areas where more detail is needed, (face & hands...etc..) it became much easier getting things like that to read better. Plus its always good to get used to zooming in and out a lot, yknow stepping back and all that.
I don't know if any of that helps, or if its coherent, or if its in english...etc![]()
Ulver: Thanks alot, that first one got a little bit too sketchy for my taste, lines everywhere. About the hand: Yup, you're right. Thanks for the crits!

agar: Thanks agar, very helpful comments. You got me spot on, I rarely zoom and I usually paint in low res images as well. I'll put it into concideration. Many thanks.
I'm sorry I haven't posted in a while, I haven't been at home and my camera battery went out last night. Anyway, I've gotten all into those more gestural figure drawings. Posting some of them, can't take them all, it's half a ton at least.![]()

Good work. Nice gestures. Keep on.

i dig it.
Hi, you have some good studies going on. I think you are on the right track. Keep it up![]()

So, I haven't posted in over a week now. school is taking more time then I thought it would. I feel that I want to spend the little time I actually have drawing instead of posting. I should still be able to post more then once a week though, 10 days is far to long.
Anyway, my good camera (which isn't really mine) is currently unavailible so I have to go with a really crappy one in the mean time. My almighty plan to make a really big post with my drawings from the week got smashed to pieces, only 4 of 13 photos had a postable quality.![]()
I'll post more when I get the normal camera back.

(c): Thank you both for your kind words and the crit (c). Very true, I still haven't studied any leg anatomy at all, aside from some basic proportion. Gonna do that right now! Studies coming soon, hopefully.
Some random new stuff, the arms are studies from Peck's anatomy.

Nice sketches! I like the last one - good proportions and interesting clothes design, is it from mind or from ref?
Thank you, imagination it is.Originally Posted by Ulver
