thnx for the patience....cha cha cha changes...

We are continuing to update conceptart.org with new features. This will be a patient process while we upgrade.

I think the obvious change we are making is to add thumbnails to threads in appropriate forums (finished section, sketchbooks etc...). There are a number of new goodies we are implementing. So thnx for the patience.

This'll be great. I love the idea of implementing thumbnails. It'll make browsing through work much more intuitive as people will find exactly what they may be looking for at any given time. Hopefully it'll level the playing field a bit as well so the casual surfer won't be so inclined to stick to threads that float to the top and accumulate the most replies while posts by lesser known users go neglected. I know it'll sure make the jobs of moderators a hell of a lot easier.

    Awesome!

Speaking of changes, maybe it's time to take down the "THE WORKSHOP IS COMING....June 9-12!" message at the top of the forum.

I'm not a fan of these thumbnails, I really hope you add the option to turn them off. It makes it harder to open links in tabs when there are many threads you want to criqtique and is really not neccesary in places like the lounge. That's how I see it anyway.

cartoonfox, you can edit your sketchbook title yourself. Just edit the first post in it and make sure you're in advanced.

Yes I have the same conundrum Blue has, they are rather...distracting, so an option for disabling them would be good.

so i was gonna start bitching about this again, but then i realized a cool effect of thumbnails for threads - it will force me and maybe a few others to really think about the big shapes in our paintings so they would read well in thumbnail form. So i guess i'm sold on the idea too. w00t!!!

Although I agree an option to turn them off is a good idea, I don't think they're planning on having thumbnails in the lounge when it's done. The post said it's just going to be for the appropriate forums.

The thumbnails are a great idea. You can see right away the great pics (even though they're small they'll still have great composition and colour). It'll also push everyone to really work on "finally finished" threads. Anyone whining and bitching about it, are only afraid people will look right past their thread.

Would it be possible to have thumbnails that appear when the mouse is moved over the thread title (link to thread). That would save space in the threads, and bandwidth would be saved too, plus the thumbnails could be a little bigger.

Just trying to give feedback that could be useful for people who like the idea of preview-thumbnails, but not the implementation as it is now.

Like here: http://digitalart.org/art.top.php (butit looks like the preload all the thumbails, without that the loading times and bandwidth use would not suffer as much).
