    Your sketchbook is awesome. Your environment sketches as well as paintings are awesome. It's cool to see that you do as many characters & anatomy studies as you do environments. that's something i need to do more of. Not much to really critique, looks like your workin your ass off. Keep at it.

    Dang! I so soo love your horse studies from the other page and your posemaniacs are really clean

    Your landscapes have nice values and details.
    I'm not really fit to give you any critique seeing your anatomy level and such, so i'll just tell you do more n don't stop

    The-Avel-Fairy Hey I remember you too thanks for stopping by
    Enydimon I'm thinking of trying yet another version of goku, but I like the face on the current one too much.... yeah it's been said his chest is flat and I agree
    LORD M Nice! thanks for the reccomendation
    danlucas thanks, posemaniacs is good to learn basic proportions, gesture, and foreshortening but it's really only a supplement to life drawing and muscle studies so use it side by side with those
    W.Rowland Thanks
    AmontilladoAg Thank you, and I won't!
    ChaoticKnight Catch up to what, I've been practically inactive for a month
    Pascallo Thanks
    ArtZealot Only reason I'm trying landscapes so much is because I suck at them so bad and don't actually like to do them. I'd much rather just draw people all day but I know they need places to fight and live and laugh and love...
    BlackDelphin Thanks very much

    That female warrior looks gorgeous. Nice job with the pose and lighting. Very dynamic.

    Sorry, but the stuff here is already so good and versatile that it's hard to beat your ass with any critiques. Just keep going and studying, you're doing awesome.

    Nice updatage, need moar updatages.
    Insanity is the key!
    Also, studies are a key. And passion is a key. Also, so are inspiration, motivation and dedication. Talent can be a key. Insomnia can also be a key, depression is a sad rusty little key. Damn, artists need one hell of a keyring.

    AmontilladoAg Thank you, I still have a way to go with faces though. Mine lack so much depth and structure I feel. I will remedy it!

    Wow- awesome work Jason. I love all three paintings- the deer painting is really fantastic.

    Edit- oh, this posted after you posted this last update. The portrait is dynamite! Your best edges yet, I believe.

    Wow, so uh... it's been a while

    Right after my last update I tried to keep up the pace/quality of studies but it broke down somewhat when more work came along. so far there are 4-5 finished pieces I can't show and probably can;t for a while, so I swear I've been working on more that is shown here. Still, I got next to nothing done for the time I've not updated.

    dose Thanks Tim now if I can only figure out what I did right and integrate that into my art I'll be on my way
    snootchy Hey snootchy, thanks! yeah we did chow 3, but I'm really underwhelmed at my contribution.

    I'll try to keep this as organized as possible, so I'll just start with the "studies" I did:

    A couple of days I did very quick portrait studies (since I really still do suck at likeneses), making sure to do 4 in no more than an hour:

    I also had some direction to do some perspective studies of a simplified figure in a rotated box. For the first batch i just used sketchup to create a box that I could rotate without worrying if my perspective was right.

    Finally, here's a new wip gift for a friend. He surprised me with a really cool gift at Christmas and after thanking him profusely, I told him I'd get him an illustration. he's native, and the concept is derived froma local feature by his reserve; on the road to the reserve there's a rock face that when viewed froma certain angle, looks like the profile of a native's head. With this image I wanted to take that image literally, with a native's head, lots of animals seeming to flow from his hair. the symbol of the Ojibwe people is on his forehead;

    More face studies, I think I'm done with female likeness studies for a while. Doing them for a week or two now, each one being 15 min long... seems it's hit or miss with them. Also did a couple figure studies the same way. Hopefully I learned something. Starting next week my one hour studies will probably be landscapes, so I'll gather some ref this weekend so i have it at the ready;
