    Neal Adams & photo manipulation.

    http://www.nealadams.com/nmu.html

So, did a little digging, didn't see this posted anywhere, so here ya go. It's back from 05, but I just found it myself, and I have to say.... hmmm. Apparently all the planets and moons are "growing". If anything the videos are just cool to watch.

I haven't done any research into the topic, but the videos don't really give any actual facts or information to work from, and reeks of psuedoscience. It's got almost all the classic red flags.

I don't know about you guys, but I get all my late-breaking scientific info from silver age comics artists.

Yeah, but its so pretty, how can it not be true? heh.
I'll file it under "interesting ideas", but in the long run doesn't really make much of a difference in my life. I just enjoyed watching 'em =)

Basically, he's saying the dynamics of the tectonic processes associated with plate-boundary environments is false and the Earth is growing larger to account for why the sea bed is never older then 70 million years old.......anything over 70 Million years old is found on land above sea level, which can be over 2 billion years or more older.

Could be valid, but I'm not certain you could ever prove it.

25 years ago no one thought a Meteor could wipe out life on earth....eh, whatever.

I just can't watch anymore of this psuedoscience

Two questions to those that did-

Is this really Neal Adams: comic artist superstar?

And is this being done in support of intelligent design? I see a quick mention of "No Big Bang" at the bottom of the web page.

    All in all, weird.

I don't think so. It's more like steady state theory. Whatever else you can say about him, Neal's no creationist (although his thought process is remakably similar).

Huh? Plate tectonics is one of those theories that nobody really believed until overwhelming evidence was discovered that supported it. Everybody (but the crazies, obviously) then jumped on board.

Read about the history of the theory here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Plate_t...ory_and_impact

    Especially note this paragraph:
A profound consequence of seafloor spreading is that new crust was, and is now, being continually created along the oceanic ridges. This idea found great favor with some scientists who claimed that the shifting of the continents can be simply explained by a large increase in size of the Earth since its formation. However, this so-called "Expanded earth theory" hypothesis was unsatisfactory because its supporters could offer no convincing geologic mechanism to produce such a huge, sudden expansion. Most geologists believe that the Earth has changed little, if at all, in size since its formation 4.6 billion years ago. . . .

Well, it's probably pseudo science since it doesn't account for the oxygenation of the Earth for over 500 million years. Those videos indicate the oceans were only made 70 million years ago......without the oceans there would be no life.

The ocean surface takes up 70 percent of the Earth's surface......so that would be too much of a tremendous 'growth' for such a short amount of time in a geological scale.

Neal Adams also seems to ignore the fact that fossilized sea creatures are found in the Himalayas.

Yes, but he goes on to say that the science is wrong. He has quite a bit of pages around there that you have to dig through to find but he explains everything.

I mean, is it so hard to belive earth grew out of nothing? To me this sounds quite a bit more plausable then some bs called the big bang.

As an artist, its so easy for me to understand where he's coming from and how he's going about doing this. It's like any great artists advocate yet he's doing it in a diffrent field of study, but the same basic rules apply. starting from the most basic principles and expanding on that after the basics are correct. if your basic's are wrong, then your just sugar coating crap to try and make it taste good. He's also expanding his knowledge across all fields of study, much like an artist must do to learn and expand and keep fresh, you dont pigion hole yourself into one style or genre your constantly poking and proding other artists out there, finding new ways, new ideas...

We dont have everything we have now because of science, we have it because of creative thinkers.

Not only that, he's come to the conclusion that all science is wrong. Ten of thousands of scientists worldwide and throughout history are all entirely mistaken, and he's the one guy who has figured out the truth.

Not through any kind of testing or facts or experiments, just by sitting down and coming up with a random idea that fits how he happens to think the universe works.

That guy is a crackpot for sure. It's kind of funny that this topic was posted on the exact day I listened to an interview with him. He spent 40 years on this bunk. I feel sorry for him yet not. How much arrogance do you have to have to say that the accumulated evidence and proofs of many people in Cosmology, Physics, Astronomy, Geology, Paleontology and Biology is all BS. He doesn't even think Gravity exits, that the Moon is hollow, and that matter continuously gets created out of nothing (hence expanding Earth). This theory was debunked in the 60's.

If anyone is interested here is an interview with him on TSG:

http://www.theskepticsguide.org/ and download podcast #51 (the latest one I believe).
Eat, drink, and be merry, for tomorrow we die.
