    Question portfolio work?

okay so here's the thing, I’ve been home schooled all my life. so I, sort of never got a good idea as to what EXACTLY I’d need in a portfolio.
I’m guessing basic anatomy, action poses, line work and colour. but I don’t know if that's enough for a portfolio or not, I’m going to attempt to get into the Nova Scotia Collage of Art and Design when I’m done school which is in one or two years, depending on how long i take to finish twelve.
anyways, i appreciate all the help i can get with this dilemma, i really want to become an illustrator and possibly teach fine arts when I’m out of university.

    peace
    -Milan

I'm gonna say have a wide range of your 'process' from gesture to sketches to finished pieces.

Stay away from cliche, be able to explain your design choices and you should do aight

Maybe you can contact the college and ask if they have guidelines, most schools do.

Irene from Tor Books gave an awesome indepth list of portfolio guidelines, not for attending university but for getting jobs. All the same, it's well worth reading about 300 times:
