Alright, I've decided to start another sketchbook cause all of my peers are 1-upping me right now. Anyway, went to Montreal and learned a shit-ton. Marko helped me to realize how bad my anatomy was. Quote, "your anatomy kind of sucks," love Marko. But I've been studying, and hopefully now that I'm aware of this I'll be able to correct myself as I go. Anyway, crit this shit. At the workshop I was hesistant to sit and draw and paint. I'm pretty sure I would have missed out on all of the lectures... Anyway here's a portrait of Carnifex. 20 minutes

Don't know why I don't post my color work very often, guess I'll have to start.

This started out as an abstract painting. A head started to appear so I focused on that. It was pretty fun.

great new images... i wouldnt even post or even look at the old sketches from last semester this is a new! DAY! the more you look at the past the more its mistakes will haunt you... nice improvement on the landscapes! using photos is a proven worthy technique... whats up with that abstract stuff... what are you turning into some artsy freak! (jus like your future roomate (me))

i think your main issue is that you were a noodler back in freshman year and prior to that. and its miss-leading you... you need to keep in mind of the whole compisition at once... or the whole figure at once us basic shapes and keep erasing until its perfect... be very loose with your drawings! FLOW LIKE WATER! it seems as though you spend too much time in certian areas but neglect the piece as a whole... start basic and quick and sketchy.... a good example is the that face you did from abstract shapes... BAM! thats awsome because you allow it to flow from the canvas! (ill hafta explain some other time if you dont understand)

yeah i agree your figures still need help... look for inspiration and draw FROM LIFE... or pictures... and keep on keep'n on .....its some HOTT SHIIIT

Well said roomie. You didn't know me as a freshman, and the term "noodler" is an understatement, haha. I've realized this all too well after Montreal. Anyway, I'll post some more sketches that I think show improvement at the end of the week, along with my LMS piece. BTW, we have to talk furniture soon. Peace outside!

Here's another dump of work. Been drawing at the natural history museum, studying anatomies and textures of animals. Very static drawing, but helpful.

Critique: it seems to me that you do your heads to small
and you feet slightly too big, it might be a good a idea

Great progress! I can see the problem with anatomy, that being too long legs, and too small a head/shoulder-part has been worked on! I can however see it recurring in this second last post with the naked woman. Great handling of the pencil when it comes to lines and good as fa as values are concerned. Keep it up!

Maxometer: Thanks Max! Your comments are greatly appreciated. Yeah, I constantly battle head sizes, and the large feet was just recently pointed out by my figure drawing teacher. It's kind of embarassing .
