Arrow ///////////.....my Work.....\\\\\\\\\\\\\ (scroll down for new stuff)

This is a painting created in Painter and Photoshop. I was looking through artwork here last week and stumbled across a fish done by nicolas. It inspired me to create a fish of my own. So, here it is...

I just graduated...so right now I'm polishing the portfolio. I interned for a gentlemen's accessories company in Kansas City...which truly wasn't much to boast about...anyway, I'm trying to make the most of it. I took an old jet flame lighter sketch I had and painted in photoshop, did some tech drawings. This rendering technique is something I learned during a Scott Robertson workshop.

    Crits and comments welcome....

I think both of the piecese "feel great". Fishy seems to be about to jump right out of the picture at any moment and the lighter desing makes it clear how it would feel to hold it in your hand.
    Good job!

yeah the fishy looks great (: but the lighter is still a bit unclear (im not stupid,. even if im about to ask stupid questions, but i thought it would be good for u to know that u need to show maybe a bit more info about design objects)
1st. how is one suppose to hold the lighter there are too ways to hold it acctually. (no not "the right way" or "Upside down" ) i mean either have the grey grip IN your palm, or away from ur palm. (considering the way the lid is opening i can understand which way, but its just a thought i wanted to share)
2ndly i would like to know exactly where the fire is coming from, if there is a special angle for it and so on.
oh and 3dly what is that little indentation on the lower part of it? just for design? or does it have a acctual meaning
just some thoughts for u (nice work)

Thanks Ravi Pacnis and Doomgriever for your replys.

The little indentation on the lower part of the lighter is a tinted window...which allows you to see how much fuel is left in the lighter. My intention was to make a some what symetrical design....so on one side the indentation is a window, and on the opposite side it's just a showy design element....purely aesthetic.

I think the lighter would be cooler if it was steel instead of yellow. The yellow kind of looks like a toy. Love love love that fish!
