    hey james,

Really like the colour work you have been doing, the apple is looking good! The acrylics face is good too, but the line art for it looks a bit shaky (propotion wise).

    Anyway, keep the colour flowing.

Nice work, lots of experimentation and play. The painty on that apple turned out very nice as well. My suggestion would be to go back to basics with your anatomy and proprotions. Trying more drawing from life and work at your underlying structure! Keep going!

Yo james. That acrylic guy is awesome. I think you handled the values really well. The drawings with three lines look like they are helping... 7 fingered hand!?. With the portrait, you proportions look good but the features are lackign in realism. You can never see the whole iris of the eye unless someone is really surprised... usually you can only see 2/3 of it, and when someone smiles it should be less than that. Also the nose looks flat, try constructing it out of cubes/pyramids/spheres to get a 3d feel. Keep up the great pace.

Oh, and yes i have halo and halo 2, but i cancelled my xbox live some time ago.

    silvistri-thank you , i will try
fishspawn-thank you , lol yes he has seven fingers ,yes the proportions are bad i think it because i did a pencil drawing and then started painting then realized the proportions were off so tried to fix them ..and failed

halo-shame would of been fun to pwn you

umm. i did this for teen thunderdome(nightmare) , the pose is quite stiff would off been more happy with a curvy one. but o well ...no ref

Ok, I have to admit it, I'm a sucker for splotches and drippings! That last pic is great! Yes, the figure could use some proportion/gesture touch up, but I think it's a great image anyway. Acrylic guy from previous post is looking good too, and fish comments on the portrait are spot on, but it's good to see you spending more than 2 min on those
    Keep it up!

I agree with severin, last one's looking good. I wouldn't like to encounter that dude in a dark alley
C'mon man, master your anxiety and take your time to draw I have the same problem, and I notice huge improvements when I slow down and take my time to get things right.
You've came a long way pal, keep it up!

Hey james. Your rendering is getting much better, but honestly, i think you should drop the rendering for a while. Do some drawing from life and focus on the line quality and contour, and spend far more time looking at what you draw than your drawing. Measure. Look at positive/negative space. Rendering can only get a drawing so far. Keep up the pace.

Hey james. Lines are looking a little better, keep working on that though. WIth the acrylics, i think you handled the guy well but the background looks like he's lying down on white sheets or something, which probably isnt what you're going for. Shoe studies would be nice, as well as some drawings of your hand or some line quality self portraits.

    Keep it up.

Excellent stuff. The clean lines are a nice change of pace. It looks to me like you're drawing with your wrist, although it could just be that your arm was being sad. At any rate, make sure you draw with your whole arm, as it will make your lines smoother and more rythmic.

And the ARGH!... i'm right there with you when it comes to hands, just keep pumping em out

I like your stuff, you are very varied in what you draw. I get my scanner tomorrow (hopefully) so I can't wait to start updating my sketchbook. I'm also kinda fourteen. (by that I mean I'm thirteen)

Looking good james. On your line drawings (which are awesome btw) try to show where the light is hitting by how hard you press, i.e. darker for shadow etc. Also, it wouldnt hurt to draw in the cast shadow so that your objects are grounded instead of floating about.

ink washes are getting better, keep it up.

Yo James, that's the way to go!! Linework is looking sooo muchs better. Sneakers, hands and random object are great. My only advice is that you mind the oval construction in cylindrical objects (ie the citadel paint and jar). I'm also diggin the acrylic robot. To avoid the paper buckling you could tape all the edges of the sheet to a hard surface, then paint on it and untape it after it's completly dry. That helps a bit, but if the paper is too crappy, you can't help it.
    Keep the pace man. Cheers!

Hay james, pretty cool idea with using mix media as a start point for colour! Are the chests bigger then they should be? Also they appear to be more or less dancing rather then covering each other and storming some place - was that an intention?

Very nice. The attention you paid to the face should be put to the whole thing. Also, watch for balance, he looks like he might fall over. Keep drawing.

Awesome, i can give you better crits on this stuff. It looks like some of the proportions are off on your bottles. Try constructing them from cubes and cylinders put into perspective (preferably with a vanishing point at this stage) and then round out whatever you need to. Its much easier to put in basic values this way and determine where you should change from darker to light. Also might help to do them on toned paper so you can make the highlights pop by adding white.

Oh btw, robot/armor guy doodles are looking better. Keep it up. For a while i was catching up to you but i'm still a little behind because you've picked up the pace again, lets keep it that way.

Yep, that ink bottle is definitely looking good. Listen to the guys above this post, that'll help you to understand volumes in space.
That white robot from a couple of posts above is looking grrreat, keep experimenting with mixing trad and digi, I really love that.
    Keep it up!
